Zoom Zoom Zoom Indeed!
Review of Zoom ADSL X6 5590 - wireless router by
matt_jones_1988
Advantages: Quick and Easy installation
Disadvantages: Low wireless range
...First of all I must congratulate Zoom for such a fantastic product. Out of all my experiences with wireless/wired routers including; Netgear, Belkin and Linkysys (Cisco), I have found the Zoom X6 Wireless ADSL router to be the most user-friendly router I have ever used.
In the box you will get; The wireless router, Power Lead, RJ5 cable (used to connect the router to a base unit in order to cingure the router softwar, once the software has been configured the RJ45 lead may be taken out as long as you have a wireless receiver, i.e. USB, PCMCIA or PCI), instruction manual and CD-ROM software.
The first thing to do when you open the box, lay out all your parts and make sure everything is there, then put the CD-ROM into your CD drive, the software is very straight forward and the whole setup process takes about 15 minutes...

Zoom around the internet in style!
Review of Zoom ADSL X3 5560 - router by
antsss
Advantages: Small, and makes internet sharing as easy as pie
Disadvantages: A bit expensive, no built-in hub, a bit ugly!
...will depend on your usage and your budget.
So where does the Zoom X3 fit in?
It has an ADSL modem built in, and one ethernet port. So you can connect directly, in the case of one computer, by plugging the router into your ethernet port (network card), or connect an ethernet hub to chain more computers through the one socket. If you wish, you can connect a wireless base station to the ethernet port at a later date.
So now you know a bit about the confusing world of routers and ADSL, let's get onto the X3 itself.
--> WHAT'S IN THE BOX?
The Zoom X3 router comes with a very informative manual and two ADSL micro-filters. If you already have an ADSL connection, chances are you already have filters, so you don't need to worry too much about those. You also get the mains adaptor, a phone cable and a reasonably short ethernet cable to get you...

Going Wireless
Review of Canon Digital IXUS Wireless by
ironman_005
Advantages: Small,Robust,Wifi,Battery life
Disadvantages: Price,Image stabilizer.
...It must be said that if you want to do any thing digital these days then it has to be wireless.
I must admit.I really enjoy this camera. It has the aluminium chassis of all the canon Ixus range,A nice big easy to view lcd,as well as being really simple to use.
the wireless feature gives digital photography a whole new meaning as down loads are simple and you can even take photos from your P.C
The zoom is your standard 3 x optical zoom and 4 x digital so there is nothing that really grabs my attention there.
However the photo quality from such a small camera is phenomenal.Shutter lag was to a minimum and over 200 photos per charge.I mean honestly whats not to like,Its brilliant!!!
The only thing things I can put against this camera is it has no image stabilizer(not really important on a camera with such a small zoom...

Touchy Feely Ergonomics Wireless and sensitive
Review of Microsoft Wireless Laser Mouse 6000 1.0 - mouse by
Aginoth
Advantages: Ergonomics. Reliability, looks, build quality robust
Disadvantages: -
...I've been using a Microsoft Wireless Laser Mouse 6000 for about 6 months.
I bought it because I have arthritis and the ergonomics of the mouse mean that it fits perfectly into my palm requiring the minimum of finger movement.
The fact this is a laser mouse means the sensitivity is excellent and it can be used n virtually any surface.
It has excellent battery life, a number of reprogrammable buttons on the thumb position (useful fr surfing commands) and a 5 way scroll wheel which I feel lost without when using other mice.
It is also very robust having survived several unintentional dousings in various liquids from my 3 young children
And now the Technical bit
The freedom of wireless, coupled with high definition laser technology
Magnifier function lets you zoom in and edit your work
Smart receiver cuts interference...

Linksys Wireless-B Media Adapter WMA11B
Review of Linksys Wireless-B Media Adapter WMA11B by
matt_fantastic
Advantages: Access all yoru photos & music on your TV / stereo via WiFi !
Disadvantages: Can be a bit temperamental, won't play movies
...I bought the Linksys Wireless-B Media Adapter to allow me to play digital music and pictures stored on my computer to my TV/Stereo in the living room, without running cables through the house.
The WMA11B box contains a setup CD; an AC adapter; Ethernet, RCA, and S-Video cables, and a remote control (including batteries), plus, of course, the WMA11B itself, whose vertical profile and compact size (50mm wide x 152mm deep x 177mm tall) make it easy to tuck into a small space. A set of LEDs on its front show power, network connectivity and activity.
The WMA11B can connect to your network either by 802.11b WiFi - 11mbps rather the 54mbps .11g standard - or by standard 10/100 ethernet cabling. Mine is connected to my WiFi network using MAC address filtering and WEP encryption, but it does not support the more advanced WPA encryption...

Zoom Zoom Zoom......
Review of ZoomPanel.com by
Bollinger28
Advantages: Professionally laid out online surveys. Product testing.
Disadvantages: Some awful incentive gifts
...~~ UPDATED FEBRUARY 2006 ~~
I joined up with ZoomPanel through ipoints in December 2003. Quite frankly, I was most unimpressed with them at first. Despite promising the potential to earn rewards and cash through ZoomPoints, the first 10 or 11 surveys they offered me only qualified me for entry into a sweepstake or prize draw. I'm afraid that I very swiftly pull the plug on any survey company only offering entries into prize draws, as in over 2 years of survey work, I have yet to win anything from any survey company prize draw or raffle. I fail to see why I should spend my valuable time completing a survey for which I get little or no reward, when you can bet your bottom dollar the company hosting it is being handsomely rewarded. However, I am most glad that I gave them the benefit of the doubt, as ZoomPanel have proved to be a good...

Wireless Fun to Stop Teenage Tantrums
Review of Belkin ADSL Modem with Wireless-G Router and Wireless G USB Network Adapter - wireless router by
tiger645
Advantages: Reliable to use
Disadvantages: The helpline waiting tune is annoying!
...~~~What is this product?~~~
This product allows your computer(s) or laptop(s) to become wireless so they can connect to the internet without having all the wires. Also so more than one computer can connect to the internet without having to have multiple connection sockets. Most new computers have a wireless device already installed so you can connect straight to the router however some computers which are over one year old do not. Cue the USB Network Adapter. Stupidly when I purchased the product I brought a card which takes hours to slot into the computer and involves dismantling the cover surrounding the technical parts. Later I realised that had I bought the USB Adapter all I had to do is put it into the USB socket. So save yourself hours of work and buy the USB, this allows computers which were not previously wireless have...

The web, wirelessly.
Review of NETGEAR DG834G 54 Mbps Wireless ADSL Firewall Router - wireless router by
TheDuke
Advantages: All-in-one package, ease of use, advanced features.
Disadvantages: Price
...wireless technology, and my research around the internet led me to the Netgear 54Mbps Wireless ADSL Firewall Router (with 4 port switch). Phew, what a mouthful, eh? This set up would mean that the PC beside the phone point would be physically connected to the router whilst the PC at the top of the house would be connected wirelessly which solves all my problems!
I can hear you all running away in terror at the horrible jargon, so stop! Return! I shall try to explain to you what this is all about.
I suppose the best place to start is the ADSL part. You probably know ADSL better as Broadband. Broadband is a fast internet connection (depending on the speed of the most common broadband connections it can be between 4 and 10 times faster than your ordinary modem connection). ADSL is generally associated with BT telephone lines. If you...

Perfect wireless home networking
Review of Belkin ADSL Modem with Wireless-G Router and Wireless G USB Network Adapter - wireless router by
theenglishviet
Advantages: Easy to set up, good range,
Disadvantages: Bit bulky
...I always do my research before making an electronic purchase, have a look on the internet to see what products are availble, compare them against each other and then have a look at the price. If its not in my price range, i discard it!
In the end, I went with teh Belkin, mainly because I know that Belkin do quality networking products. I already had a modem router at home, but i have three laptops that i needed to connect, and i don't like being bounded by wires (simply because that means everyone ends up in my room!) so i decided to invest in this. Already an advantage, this product came with a free USB wireless adapter!
Firstly, the difference between wireless G and wireless B (802.11g or 802.11b) is that G is faster than B, by about 5 times (although this is the maximum). I don't know of any other differences, i thought...
