...Germany produces some mighty fine beers and Lowenbrau Special is one of them. Lowenbrau means ..."Lions Brew" and this very drinkable beerhas its origins back in 1383. It was in that year that a Bavarian innkeeper brewed his very own beer at the so called... "Zum Lowen.." or Lion's Inn in Munich. This Bavarian brewery has,of course,long been associated with that great festival... the "...Oktoberfest;;;" and gallons of the stuff will be devoured at this well known drinking spree. ...Hallo Community, gestern Abend war mal wieder das ansehen eines Filmes vonnöten. Ein Freund kam vorbei und hatte ne DVD unterm Arm. Da ich eh nichts besseres vor hatte, wurde also mal wieder das technische Equipment gestartet und wir schauten uns den Film : The Cell an. Ich möchte noch kurz erwähnen das mein Kumpel absoluter JeLo-Fan ist, was ich persönlich nicht so ganz nachvollziehen kann, aber das nur am Rande, nun also zum Film. Jennifer Lopez (JeLo) verkörpert die Psychologin Catherine, Diese benutzt eine völlig neue Methode, die es ihr erlaubt in das Unterbewußtsein von Menschen einzudringen. Der eigentliche Sinn dieser Therapie liegt darin Kontakt mit Komapatienten herzustellen. Doch dann passiert etwas, was für Catherine eine ganz neue Herausforderung bedeutet. A three night stay at Hotel Caprice

Advantages: Excellent breakfast, great location, very friendly staff, very clean
Disadvantages: Small shower, main entrance obscurely placed

...the Rhine. There is an abundance of eating and drinking stablishments, the majority of which tend to cater for those who like food. We recommend Haxenhaus zum Rheingarten which is round the corner from the hotel. Cologne is a beautiful city that is worth visiting. However when we went in February it was undergoing a lot of reconstruction work. We are planning to come back and we will probable stay at City Class Caprice Hotel again....

The bridge became important because it was part of the via regia, the royal route, in fact the whole town of Erfurt became important and rich during the Middle Ages because it was located at the point of intersection between two European trade routes, (nowadays it?s the shopping centre for Thuringia). At the end of the 79m long bridge there?s the restaurant Zum Roten Turm with a vault like structure, it?s part of a church and serves good food, recommended! Back to the tourist office and the city hall and from there to the Cathedral square - following the rails of the tram, what else! Nearly the whole centre is a pedestrian precinct with only the trams and bicycles for transport. As Good As The Matrix - THE Soundtrack

Advantages: Good variety in dance music
Disadvantages: not enough songs, as thirteen just is not enough...

...really does burst out into maximum energy and is certainly one of the star hits of the album. The hit My Own Summer from the Deftones (no need to ask if you have heard of them! Assuming you are a rock fan!) has the lead singer screaming ‘shove it’ down the microphone, which just seems so right and effective! The Deftones use another good riff here, which plays well both with single string hits and chord strums. Hive’s Ultrasonic Sound is another reasonably mellow track compared to the rest of the tracks, but still has a nice zumming (new word for me!) beat to it. Monster Magnet use good use of guitar’s and are accompanied with good meaningful lyrics, quite a soft rocking sound. You may have haerd of the German Rockers Rammstein, and their ‘Du Hast’ is quite a fast sounding track, with a good constant...

Ice Madame? One lump or two?

Advantages: A sweet, heady, dessert wine from Austria with a fascinating method of production. If you find one treasure and savour it.
Disadvantages: Hard to find. The red is a real rarity.

.... We had a celebratory dinner at home this evening so it was appropriate that we opened one of our souvenirs today. We drank it as an accompaniment to a fresh Summer fruit salad and toasted the birthday girl. A glass or two of Eiswein makes a pleasant and refreshing change from Port or liqueur. My personal taste is for the red version (rather more cinnamon and spice hints and slightly less sweet) than the white which can be just a little cloying if allowed to warm too far. Overall this is an ultra-sweet, full bodied dessert wine (like a heavy Sauterne). As such, you will need to be discriminating when you drink it. It can come as a bit of a surprise to a palate used to dry wine but Eiswein is in a class of its own and is a classic from Austria. If you have the chance to try a glass do so.
