Kawasaki ZX9R F1P
Review of Kawasaki ZX9R by
KneeDown
Advantages: It makes you smile (a lot)
Disadvantages: When you cane it the petrol really disappears !
...back down to ground level from the high I am currently on.
So wot is it then ?
A bike that no doubt is not top of the fashion stakes for most people, is not the fastest or most nimble handling and again, for some folks, is not the sexiest looking thing on two wheels – if you believe any of the dross in the bike mags that is – step forward the much maligned Kawasaki ZX9R.
My machine is a 2002 F1P model in a lovely silver colour with 9800 miles on the clock – barely run in. A piccie will appear in my profile shortly – check it out – I think it is beautiful ??????
A few facts and figures for you to get them out of the way. The engine is a Kawasaki stalwart 899 cc across the frame four cylinder nutcase. It runs very noisily at tick over which apparently is a result of the airbox/ram air design letting...

Sex Machine
Review of Kawasaki ZX9R by
biker2000
Advantages: WOW What a bike
Disadvantages: none
...This monster the zxr900r ninja is orgasmic,in the past it has been a little to slugish and far to heavy to fly into those bends, and even though it is still heavier than other 900's its alot more stable,it is the meanest, highest performance bike in its class of the 900's supersports machine in the world today. The 2000ninja zx-9r grts thriugh tweaking to engine and chassis to a furtherboost its performance.Ahost of improvments result in upgradedpower and improved corner carving, making the ZX-9R everything supersports riders around the world have been waiting for,the looks i grt when i am rideing to meets are amazing, and when it is parked up on my return there are always admires standing bt it its my dream bike the best....

Damn awesome 2000 Yamaha YZF-R6
Review of Yamaha YZF-R6 by
Rosbird1
Advantages: Its light, it goes, it stops, it looks great and it scores an A+ in all these categories!!
Disadvantages: Its total race position, so if you want to do a lot of miles, you're gonna get wrist ache, and they dont like to go slow either!!
...My first encounter with the Yamaha was back in 2001, when i took one out for a test ride from our local shop. It was V registered, red and awesomely fast. Unfortunately it was also £6000, so i was totally outpriced and went off home with my tail between my legs and a persistant niggle in the back of my brain telling me to sell those kidneys and get that bike! I bought a cheap 1984 GPz900r and ran it till it died then went on to a 1996 ZX9R. it was lovely, incredibly fast but very heavy and difficult for me to move around. The R6 never left my system and found the hankering was getting too much to bear so after re MOT-ing my zx9r having only done 250 miles on it since the previous one i decided that now was definitely the time for change. Off i went down the bike shop, and there it was. The most fantastic blue (thats the most important...

Motorcycles : Better ‘n Sex
Review of Everything that starts with M ... by
KneeDown
Advantages: Everything
Disadvantages: Nothing
...to settle the bike, hang off a bit – mebbe try to get the ole kneedown heh heh, bit of counter-steering to tip it over on it’s ear and power through – YEEEEEEEEEEEEE HAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRR !”
Any sports bike rider, with any level of skill, reading this KNOWS and RECOGNIZES what I am talking about and I hope that I may convey something of the rush to the non-biking fraternity.
Maybe that’s it succinctly described actually. To ride a motor cycle competently you need to understand how all the pieces interact either at a gut level or at a more scientific level, and it takes skill to put it all together – even if you are a novice.
I may try to trade ole “binky” in for a shiny new Kawasaki ZX9R this year, but, I keep stalling. The VFR is very distinctive in it’s own way and is such a good...

Mine's an Earl Grey - read on....
Review of Suzuki GSX600-F by
martinlross
Advantages: Cheap, Comfy, Practicable, Tough
Disadvantages: Image, Cheap
...on windy A class roads with my friends on their ZX-9R's and CBR600's. This bike is not for small people. It is very heavy and bulky. The finish also wasn't the best – brake rotor bolts went rusty and the fluid reservoir fittings were a bit soft like a fine Brie. The bike is basically a parts bin special where the components are as cheap as you get from Suzuki and sourced from earlier models in times past. This was evident in the suspension which was limited in adjustment and pretty soggy when pushed to the limit.
Other points: For me this was an ideal intro to biking. I learnt a lot about how a bike works - it's like a an old car where you can actually tinker with things without being hampered by space age electronics. It's also good to work on (I replaced the rear shock and I am no mechanic). For comfort it was great - good...

Wow, just got it and it's a bit mad.
Review of Kawasaki ZX12R by
SatanicDark
Advantages: fast, torquey, badge of honour, superb
Disadvantages: not for the faint hearted
...I have only had it a week, so this can be an ongoing review (maybe). After much umming and ahhhing I traded in my ZX9R and RVF 400RR (which I miss badly!!) and stumped up another grand to get the 12R.
Its an X reg so its full power (pre 186mph legislation). Its also that lovely Kawasaki Green. It came with braided Goodridge hoses which provide mucho stoppo when needed and a Rhencullen undertray, which has tidied up the arse end nicely. The OE screen has gone and there is a green double bubble to keep the wind over me. A carbon fibre rear hugger keeps the crud away from the rear shock and a nice little Scottoiler keeps that chain lasting "6 times longer". A good deal I thought.
Missing one thing though... Blueflame Evo 3 Titanium Oval exhaust. £260 from the great guys at Taz Motorcycles. Now we're talking. Putting...
