I have looked over the stepstone site and to be honest was not that impressed by what i saw. I tried searching on various criteria but all that ever came back was that no current vacancies matched my criteria. I am a computer professional and it could be that this site was no specific enough for my needs or that my sills are just not needed anymore but if i did a similar search on some other sites the results come folooding back. Disadvantages: could be hard to use for internet beginners

This is an excellent recruitment website. I have been using it for about 3 weeks to search for suitable jobs within my area, so far I have applied for 4 jobs that I have seen advertised on stepstone. I havent taken this feature up, so I don’t know how well it works, but it seems to be a big thing that they promote on their site. Step stone recruitment web site is very nice to look at with the familiar stepping stone logo. Nvaigation arround the site Is very easy as they have built all pages from 1 template. Disadvantages: You get sent far too much information

If you think that looking for jobs will be easy then think again. If you think that this company will simplify matters forget it. I registered with stepstone only to find my inbox clogged up with useless information each day. The lists they provide are endless and often completely useless. Disadvantages: mostly IT jobs?

Stepstone is an international internet job search. You can preselect certain categories and have mails sent to your mailbox about particular jobs in these categories. You do get mails every day, mostly with several job links in it. They do have a wide variety of categories, but my experience is that they are mostly good for IT jobs. In a former life (well..) The advice thing section was useful it contains information you should know for your career including a CV scoring system with links to various other web sites. There is a section, which basically brings up a different home page for your industry sector, which contains the latest news stories and advice on that section which I found particularly helpful. You can personalise your workthing site, the registration process is pretty simple just a few details such as email, age and location. The personalisation is limited in comparison to sites such as stepstone.co.uk and reed.co.uk; you may upload CVs, cover letters and save searches. That is the site description, It could be useful in many ways such as the advice thing, when the online courses section gets working I am sure this will be a valuable learning... Read review

...up. I haven't used customer services, so I can't comment on that, although if it is anything like the site they will be pretty annoying and provide little real assistance. There is a neat email option which is a good idea, but poorly run and often gives you poor or irrelevant information. One last gripe is the update, there isn't one. I found a job on there that ran out of application time in June 2000. That was on February 2001. Hmmmmmmmmm. In short, you should look elsewhere for serious jobs, although this is always worth a look if you are desperate (hell sometimes ANYTHING is worth a look). I would recommend you try www.stepstone.co.uk or www.monster.co.uk first though, both are brilliant sites, although the most accurate search and best site I have so far found is www.pertemps.co.uk.
