Streetmap.co.uk is a site where you can find any street or place in UK(mainland only) with the map of the area displayed. The site is very simple and easy to use, and loads quickly. The layout and design of the site is average, nothing fancy, but remember you are looking for a map, not a date. On the home page you will find the search option. There are many options to search for your desired place.

- The name of the street.
- By post code
- By telephone code
- By place like city, town or village etc.
- By OC grid reference.

- And by longitude and latitude (I am sure you won’t be using this one but the option is still there in case you have nothing better to do)
So you choose your search option, type the information and here you go, in ... more
Ok, This isn't a site that will tell you if you are hot or not, you won’t find any nasty or yummy email attachments with an option of anonymous sender to p*** of your enemies or friends, and you don’t have to empty your history folder after visiting the site. No fun, glamour or hanky panky, then what’s use of the site? You must be thinking. Well believe me it’s still a very useful site and very easy to use.
Streetmap.co.uk is a site where you can find any street or place in UK(mainland only) with the map of the area displayed. The site is very simple and easy to use, and loads quickly. Search options
You can search by using the
- The name of the street. - By post code - By telephone code - By place like city, town or village etc. - By OC grid reference. - By land ranger grid reference. - And by longitude and latitude (I am sure you won’t be using this one but the option is still there in case you have nothing better to do)
So you choose your search option, type the information and here you go, in less than a minute you have found your destination with a map displaying an area of 500 meter, with an arrow pointing the street or place you were looking for. You can click any area within the map to have a magnified view. Below the map there is an icon of a camera, by clicking this icon a separate window will open showing an original birds eye view of the place.
If you are a lazy person like me you can just type the first 3 letters of the city or town, like for London you can just type Lon, no offence will be taken and you will get the same service. If you are using the postcode option but not sure about the postcode or want to find out the post code of the area there is a link to the following web site where you can find the postcode.
www.royalmail.co.uk/paf.
Another very useful feature is the URL of the map. With every map it’s URL is given, so if you want to inform somebody of a place just give them or email the URL and they can directly check out the map.
Linking with the site
If you have a store or an office you can put a link on your site of the map of your place. This service is free. There are other services for which you have to pay like your map can be embedded on your site and they also provide consultancy but these can be pretty expensive and probably not suitable for small businesses. You can link to them by postcode, grid reference or using outlook express, the details are given on the website.
You see, I wasn’t joking when I said now you can do it with one finger, it’s really that simple. If Danzel Washington can catch a ruthless serial killer (Bone collector) by using one finger only, why can’t you find a mere street in UK with yours, ok you won’t get an Oscar or Angelina Jolie in the end but at least you will find your place.
So now you don’t have to be a road inspector to find a street in UK, just use your finger, but make sure you use the right one.

My father has an appointment at a clinic next week to see if there is anything that they can do for him to ease the pains in his knees, as he sometimes finds it very difficult to walk.
He, my mother, Dave and I all knew roughly where this particular clinic was but none of us were sure of the exact location, so I offered to find out for mom and dad and let them know.
It would be no problem; I would just look in my A to Z, it was that easy. Well, ... ...as when I reached for my A to Z I remembered that I had already packed all my books ready for our house move! Now what could I do? Knowing mom and dad if they set of with only a vague idea of where they were headed who knows where they’d end up?
It was then that I turned to my good friend the Internet for help. I accessed the search engine www.google.co.uk and typed in the words ‘street map’. Unbeknown to me there was actually a site called www.streetmap.co.uk ...

There must be occasions when you have to go somewhere out of the ordinary. Even if it happens to be a town only a few miles away from where you live. How do you find out where to go? I know in the past, I would wander along to my local library and ask if they had a streetmap of that town or village. Quite often they would have if it was in our county or one adjacent. But what if not?
Now there is an answer – streetmap.co.uk! It really is a ... ...address you are looking for by entering either the street and town names, or even by just entering the postcode, if you have it. I know I had to do that a couple of days ago, because someone gave me their address to send something to, but I was not sure whether it said Ringwood, Ringnould, Ring…well something. I went onto streetmap.co.uk, entered the postcode and…presto! Found it.
There are several search criteria you can use – ...

This is a site which will mean that you have no excuse to get lost again. This site provides address searching and street map facilities for the UK. They currently have street and road maps for the whole of mainland Britain.
The search engine is excellent and will recognise all post codes in the UK. You can try how good it is by typing your own post code out and instantly finding a detailed, colour map of your area. And a yellow arrow to indicate ... ...street. You can then maximise the size of the map, move it about etc. You don’t have to search only by post code, you can search:
London street, UK place, OS Grid, Landranger grid, Lat/Long, Telephone code, or UK Street
So, you are bound to find the place that you are looking for. If you do find difficulty finding what you want then e-mail the site managers who will help you look for the place: streetfeedback@btex.co.uk. The site is really ...

Advantages: Free maps, great location finder Disadvantages: A little slow
I am always on the look out for useful sites and services and what a useful site this has proved to be, I regularly use it rather than go to the expense of buying maps. What am I going on about, Streetmaps.co.uk, here you will find OS maps for every location in the UK and in most cases you can even locate street level maps, by that I mean maps allowing you to pinpoint any individual road in the country. Finding somewhere has never been so easy.
... ...of criteria, Post Code, UK Place Name (town city village, etc), OS Grid Reference, Landranger Grid Reference, Longitude and Latitude and Telephone area code. There is also a separate search for London Street Names. The search is simplicity itself, just type in what you want and the site will do the best to find it for you. Once found you are presented with a map of the location, from here you can zoom in (mostly down to street name level) and out, ...

Thinking of moving house to follow that special job or just want to find out about a particular town or area? Then look no further than www.upmystreet.com as this site will tell you all that you need to know.
The home page is nothing to write home about but it is clear an unambiguous with the usual handful of text links at the bottom of the page where the viewer can find out about the site, offer feedback, read about the privacy policy and get help ... ...But the central bit is where the user will want to go, where a text box invites the viewer to input either a postcode of the area sought after or the name of the town. Don’t know the postcode? Well the Webmaster has thoughtfully provided a text link to the Royal Mail postcode finder that does exactly as it states.
Input the name of the town you are researching and the next thing that you see is a white background page that has everything on ...
