Got games and cds that you used to love but are now bored of? Been given christmas/birthday presents by relatives that you know you'll never use? Have you got something that you have bought that you never use, but others might like? Then Swapitshop is the place to be!
Swapitshop is a free service that anyone can use (if you are under 13, you need parental permission before registering).
This is how it works:

The currency of swapitshop are swappits. You get 10 swappits when you register. To earn swappits, you have to post your own items on the site, which people will bid for if its in good condition and the swappits asked for are reasonable.

You post your unwanted items in the correct catagories, write a description of it, then put a minimum swap value ( this is the minimum amount of swappits that you are willing to sell your item for) and a swap now value ( this is the maximum your item is worth, and if people bid this amount, the swap session closes and they have won the item). If you dont have any idea what your item is worth, have a look at similar products to yours on the site, and see how much they are going for.

The auction lasts for 7 days. In this time, people will bid for your item (if its good quality, good value, and something people will want).

When the swap session closes, you will be notified.
If you have no bidders, you can always post again (try lowering the swappit price slightly).
If people have bid on your item, you will be told the number of swappits the winner has bid and asked to send it to swappitshop. They then send it on to the bidder.

Once they have recieved the item, you will receive your swappits and can start bidding on things you want!

Remember, the only people who will know your personnel information and address are the people at swappitshop.

I have swapped several items and swappitshop, and I am very pleased with the service, and the quality of the goods I recieved.

One of the opinions of my comment said I need to write more about my personal experiences, so here I am!
I joined a few weeks ago, and I put up some phone covers. After a couple of days, someone bid my 'swap now' value (600 swappits). I packaged it up, and sent it as quickly as possible. The next day, it arrived at swappitshop (You can find out where it is on your accounts page) and the sent it off immediately. Then, after 3 days (the time swappitshop allows for the package to arrive) I recieved my swappits!

I bid on a care bears video for my brother (honestly, it wasnt for me! :o) and although it took a few days before the owner sent it, I recieved it a couple of days ago and it was in great condition!

Since then, I have added a few more items to the site and have had and are getting great bids for them. I have also bid on a few other things on the site, most of which are being sent to me at the moment.

Another thing I forgot to mention, is that on every weeknight, there is a competition called the 7 o'clock swap in which you can win 1000 swappits! The questions are about news articles posted in the various catagories (Bookshop, Cardtrader, Gamezone, Musicspace, Sportscene, Toybox and Videostore), and there is a countdown prior to seven. As soon as it hits 7 o clock, you are given around 5 questions about information you have read in the news articles. The first person to answer all questions correctly in the fastest time wins!

I think www.swapitshop.com deserves 5 stars because it gives children a taste of how to handle currency, it is fun in the sense that you are getting new things just by swapping items you are now bored of, and makes using the internet and the computer fun.
The site could be improved however, by having the items posted more closly monitered, and removing items that are too highly priced, or things that no-one will ever want (such as posters that came with magazines).

Swapitshop has closed its doors, due to lack of funds. I, along with many others have lost out on a lot of swapits that were in our accounts ( I had 800). But, hopefully (fingers-crossed), they will be bought out and continue trading again, because it was a great service!
