Do you remember Noel Edmonds multi-coloured swap shop from the 80's?

Well Swapitshop are quite similar to that classic show but with a few small changes.

Firstly you will need to register here (free)

Then after you have filled out all the details (make sure to put your genuine address as this is where your swaps will be sent to) you can then start to add your swaps to the site, this is extremely easy to do as everything is catergorised so for example if you no longer want an old Kylie CD you would select the music section, then select CD's then type the name of the product out and a short description of the CD, lastly and perhaps most importantly you will need to place a figure that you would accept as a starting bid and whether you would like a 'close now' bid feature (think of e-bay and youve got the idea).

The nice twist here is that you are not dealing with money in regards to the bids but with 'swapits'.

'Swapits are a kind of e-credit that you and everyone else will have had to accumulate by succesfully selling (for e-credit) to another user then once the item has been recieved you will recieve your e-credit into your account within 3 days (the whole procedure works extremely well and is very reliable).

You may add as many items to swap that you want and obviously the more you sell the more swapits you will acquire which inturn means the more e-credit you have in order to bid on other users items, its that simple.

'So who are swapitshop and can i trust them?'

Swapitshop are an internet company that make their money soley from 3rd party advertising, you have no software to download whatsoever. The company has been running for years now and i have infact been a member for over 3 years and have never once had a problem with them, however some of the people may not send you the item that you chose and won, if this happens you dont lose anything as ALL items are first mailed to swapitshop and then onto the winning bidder so swapitshop know who has sent what and who hasnt.

'Sounds good so wheres the catch?'

Well there isnt one, except that for every item you send to swapitshop you must include postage for them to mail the item onto the winning bidder so imagine that you mail a book to swapitshop which costs 50p to send , you would need to include a further 50p worth of stamps (not cash) for swapitshop to mail the item on to the winning bidder, at no time do you have any dealings with the other users, everything goes thru swapitshop themselves which after years of using the service i have to agree is a superb method of doing business and hassle-free.

Swapitshop is absolutely superb for anyone who has boxes of books, CD's, videos, games (all formats) and so much more, trade what you dont want for things that you do want... its that simple.

Theres no catch and the service is very reliable, expecially if you tend to bid for items that are being sold by 'trusted' members, for every swap that has been succesfully completed the seller gains ackowledgment (also similar to e-bay) which is a massive help and helps you to target these people to make future bids from as you can rely on them to send the item promptly.
