After a fair few attempts (Seemingly there was a lot of users on this system) it took a little time to load up the page with a list of chats. It had both chats for area (Mostly American - including Boston etc) and also for lifestyle, such as entertainment and sports.
Compared to MS Chat, it was sadly flawed in that the servers were just not as quick. This was sometimes infuriating, as the chat could be going fine, that net congestion would bring minutes of wait for the next section of chat.
I would recommend this service to anyone who has time to wait on their 56k modem and would like to talk to people in America. Those of us with faster connections such as cable modems in Britain may find this site very good.
Advantages: Uhmn..they have a Homepage creator? Disadvantages: Everything else - please read the opinion.

Hosted conversations with authors, movie directors, and other semi-celebrities. You obviously won't find J K Rowling chatting with other users, but you'll find some other fairly well known writers and such in a scheduled forum so that fans can interview and interact with them. Advantages: NONE Disadvantages: Too countless to list
I first begain going to Talkcity approximately two years ago. Why, you might ask? Well, I played an addictive game called acro. I simply loved this game (I still do, but don't tell anyone shhhhh) more than almost anything. When all my acro buddies from the Undernet began playing the game on Talkcity, I begrudgingly followed. The main reason I left the Undernet was for the simple fact that hardly anyone ever came there to play anymore.
Ok, so I began ... ...stifled the creativity of the game. I also began to notice that many people voted for "crapola"! I tried going to Acrophobia on the web, but found that the competition left much to be desired. A year or so ago Acrophobia also had ads, and I hated the "commercials", so I rarely went there. I quiet often go in to talk city chat room, as you get to meet people from all around the world, and they make you feel very welcome, there allways seem to be a lot of people that use the chat rooms and there are a lot of diffrent chat rooms for you to go in and talk about special subjects, i tend to use womens stress alot i find it to be really funny at times and you do get to meet some good people in there i have tryed diffrent chat rooms before ...

Talkcity is one of the best chat forums on the internet it allows you to chat to people from all over the internet. You can access talkcity via its website www.talkcity.com or via a chat program such as mirc or pirch. All you need to do is enter the details of the chst server and then connect to talkcity.
