Advantages: free listing fees and generally cheaper than ebay Disadvantages: not as active as ebay

-Background-
Tazbar is set up in a very similar way to eBay. People can list items either in an auction style , buy it now (BIN) or both if you want. The items are listed for a specific amount ... ...14 days) and bids are placed or the item is sold through BIN. The item is then paid for and sent to the buyer. After this feedback is left for both the buyer and seller in a very similar way to eBay.
-Listing Items-
Listing items is very simple. You can either use the Classic three page form or the new live preview form. Both are easy to use, but I prefer using the classic form because the live preview form doesn't always update what you write, ...

Advantages: Like the name, Nice forum members Disadvantages: Most sellers left (see below)
I have supported the site for as long as I could but just before Christmas 2007 they changed and increased there fees and never contacted anyone about it until lots of members started complaining about it on the forum. They say the new fees and limits are to help reduce listings of the same items. All tazbar needed to do is make some software changes like other sites have done that automatically remove multi listings of the same item and close listings ... ...Charging high fees and reducing listings is not the way forward .
I would love tazbar to succeed but I can't keep paying tazbar more and more if I don't get any sales, I could be wrong but as a buyer i want choice not just 3 items in each category, Tazbar please think about software changes and not fee increases and i will be glad to come back. ...

Advantages: Free Listing, Excellent Customer Support, Good Layout Disadvantages: Not Enough Buyers, search engine needs to be improved
Tazbar is a refreshing, new alternative to eBay. All items qualify for standard free listing and this has encouraged the site to grow rapidly. There is a now a large range of products on offer. Customer support is excellent; you actually deal with real people rather than the faceless system of eBay.
As a buyer, I feel it is the safest auction site to buy on and as a seller I have found the system easy to use. Not only is standard listing free on ... ...every listing (something eBay charges 15p extra for). Final Value fees are also very reasonable. (see figures at end of review.) For example, if you sold a book for £30 on eBay, you would have an eBay bill of £3.00 (approx.) On Tazbar your bill would be a mere 20p!
The site also allows you to use your existing PayPal account, so seasoned 'eBayers' should find the transition painless.
People new to on-line auctions will find the forums and staff ...

Advantages: Free to list for a limited number of listings Disadvantages: Small, competition for lots is rare, high minimum FVF
I have to completely rewrite this review. Tazbar is totally changing its fee structure with less than 2 weeks notice. I only have that much because someone, not from the company, posted a link on their forums.
Not only is the site no longer free to list but I can't give management many points for communication.
So where is Tazbar today? It's a St. Elsewhere auction site with less than 150,000 listings. As I type this, the number is plummeting. ... ...sales - this is sellers pulling their listings to go elsewhere. This is happening because management have treated the sellers as mushrooms (kept in the dark and fed on the proverbial). This we expect from the market leader but it is no way to become a realistic rival to that market leader. And the search is so poor that some items have almost no chance of selling.
I'm deeply disillusioned. I'm sorry to be typing this, but I couldn't, in all honesty, ...

Advantages: Really nice layout, Easy to list, Great Atmosphere, LOW FEES ! Disadvantages: Sales are a little slow because its a new site.
I have been with Ebay for about 4 years and to be honest dont really mind the fees, but I thought it would be nice to give the underogs a try. I have tried Ebid (not impressed) and am now giving Tazbar a go.
First impressions on Tazbar are good. Its a very professionally run and well managed website. Listing REALLY is free here - you get all the features you would on Ebay and it costs you nothing. So your listing has a free Gallery and Free Buy ... ...biggest benefit of this site, I list some small value items like books and CDs which dont always sell first time on Ebay and would incur repeat listing fees. Even on Ebid I would still be paying a membership fee.
So having completely fee free listing on Tazbar is a huge plus for me - I can just leave my stuff there and wait for it to sell.
So as standard a FREE listing will include your auction start price, a Buy it Now Price and a single Photo ...
