It took about 25 minutes to cook about 70g of rice I normally eat about 50g but 75g is recommended, sometimes I save a portion and freeze it although this may not be wish as reheating rice can lead to hygiene problems (I blast mine in a microwave oven). ...need in these situations is Tesco Easy Cook Rice. You can't fail. It comes in a choice of white or brown and all you need to do is bung it in the steamer that I've also reviewed. Takes what... 30 mins?
They've even thought of the packaging too. Be careful to open it carefully and when u've finished you can stuff it full of a few old clothes and use it as a travel pillow.

The bright orange packet stands about 7cm tall and 5cm wide and is found in the same aisle as normal cookrice. Uncle Bens is clearly labelled in blue at the top of the packet and the word ‘express’ is blazoned below in white. In all the supermarkets I have shopped in it has always been stacked at eye level and would be very difficult to miss. It is available from supermarkets, I’ve yet to visit one that doesn’t stock it, and it is currently priced at Tesco at 1.15 per packet.
It is a very easy way to cookrice. Taking only 2minutes and leaving nothing but an empty packet makes it ideal for anyone who is time or space deficient, or like me, just doesn’t have the skills to cookrice in a pan...
