Textmessenger.co.uk just HAS to be the best sms site around! - mainly because its FREE!! Wohoo! You have to sign up to use it (but thats free too!) and the best thing I like about this site in comparison to other sites that have the free sms idea is the fact that you can have a "phone book" on the site - so you dont have to get your phone, route through all the numbers just to find the phone number....great idea if you ask me!

Also the fact that there is no hassle involved makes me come back to this site time and time again! You simply send the message (unlike most others when you have to sort out the number into different catagories and include the country code etc!)

Another thing ive found is that many other websites arnt compatible with certain phones. One particular one I can think of just will simply not work on a Maxon phone (one a friend has...whereas it works on mine and other [Nokia] phones. However textmessenger.co.uk sends to all phones (that i've tried to send them to at least!) no matter who they're with, and you're not expected to have to type the +44 country code thing in. You simply select the persons name from your phone book and send the message.

In addition to simply SMS functions the site also has a variety of Icons and tones for your phone (only compatible with Nokia phones though, and only then are the tones compatible with the newer models).
However, inlike some other websites that can send icons and tones for free, textmessenger.co.uk charges for the service. They charge 50p - with a single call (under a minute) or a credit card. I've never used thier icons or tones service so I can't comment on how good it is. Their selection of both tones and icons are extremely wide and varied though. You can also design your own icons on their website and post it. If they think its any good you can have it posted on their site for people to have sent to their phones! (Which I thought was quite good...although they've never published any of mine!) :(

Basically if your after free sms's (sure beats paying 10p to send it from the phone huh!) then DEFINATELY sign up to this site! Its the best SMS website i've found (yet!).
