This review is specifically about AA Routefinder, a service provided by the AA. It is posted under a general section for the AA Website because this is the category that Ciao decided to create for my product proposal. I am not a member of the AA, however I do find in general that their site is quite good for finding a set route which is what my review is on. I currently do agency work as a nurse, and so therefore may go to various different places for which I have not been to before. I have looked at many different sites in order to help me to plan my journey, and although the AA has their own issues I wish to acknowledge the fact that to me they are the best. AA.com for me personally means routefinder and nothing else. The home page is simple enough with a Products and Services list down the left hand side of the page. I immediately click on "Routes and Traffic" and voila, I'm on Route Planner Great Britain. At this point I can take the choice of remaining on this page or, should I desire, plan a route in Ireland or, alternatively, Europe. As I have yet to drive in Ireland I have had no need to use the route planner so therefore I am unable to comment on it's abilities. As for Britain and Europe though, well, read on. To me the only purpose of theaa.com is the Route Planner. That's why this review is about the AA Route Finder (listed under Travel in the quick links section of their site) and nothing else. Sure theaa.com has many other thing, but to me the only thing it's good for is the Route Planner. The route finder is an excelent tool that has help with many a journey. You simple type in where you leave from, where you're planning to go, add in any places you want to go via (eg. Cardiff to Coventry via London) and click go. You can also tell the tool to avoid motorways and toll roads/congestion charging ... more
