Advantages Shows you the route you want.

Disadvantages Doesn't show roadworks....

I am not a member of the AA, however I do find in general that their site is quite good for finding a set route which is what my review is on. I currently do agency work as a nurse, and so therefore may go to various different places for which I have not been to before. I have looked at many different sites in order to help me to plan my journey, and although the AA has their own issues I wish to acknowledge the fact that to me they are the best.

And so how does one find fine them on the Internet?

Well, I initially only really found them by searching on www.google.co.uk however having used them enough I know their address to be www.theaa.com!

Once I get to their website, how do I find the route finder section?

Well, as with all good websites everything is quite well established and/ or developed. Therefore, all that one has to do is to click on the appropraite section (and in this case it is well marked up) and you are well away!

OK, so I have found their route finder section but what next?

It is all pretty much self explanatory, but here is my own 'idiots guide' to the service in question.

Once you have scrolled down the page a bit, you will come across a section that asks you to put in the place where you intend to start your journey. It asks for house number; street name; town/ city name, and/ or post code. The more information that you insert, the better as this will give you a more accurate route.

You are then asked to insert the place in which you intend to end up, and this includes the same as your starting place. Then press get route!

You are then asked as to whether you wish to have a map of the route, which is entirely up to you. At this point, you can also indicate as to whether your personalised route plan includes things such as speed cameras; petrol stations, along with traffic blackspots. If you live in area with motorways and/ or traffic comgestion charges, then these can be included/ discluded from your choice.

Once the route of your choice has been found, you can then either copy down what has been selected for you or print it off.
