After having a bad experience with a 12 month contract mobile I swore that I would never get another contract phone!! But after having a pay as you go for a year or two and finally getting fed up of never having credit it when I needed it I decided to try again.
I had heard about themobs from a friend, they had had no problems with them and the tariff they were on seemed cheap and had lots of free minutes of air time -so I had a look online.
You must understand that although you choose a phone and tariff provider (T mobile, Vodafone etc) while on the themobs site all they do is take your order, deliver your phone and set up your details with your chosen provider who your contract is then with. Like me I got the phone through themobs but my phone contract (so phone bills etc) are with Three
The themobs web site is easily navigated (just have a look in all the sections to see what there)
I played around on the site for a while comparing different network prices and handsets (each different phone can be clicked on to give phone specks and different views of it-handy as I hadn't heard of some of them!) and decided to concentrate on their £2.99 a month with the 500 minutes and 100 texts on the Motorola C975. I worked it out that it would be cheaper to use this handset as a landline replacement!
I clicked Buy Now, this takes you to the usual secure pages for you to fill in your details for delivery address and bank details/credit card details (you have to have cc details even if the phone you pick is free). Which are easy and strait forward.
You can also ring as speak to a person (or they will even ring you back) if you prefer not ordering on line.
I was a little scared as I hadn't done anything like this before (had I misunderstood what I was signing up for? was the phone really free etc) but the site seemed straight forward and the phone arrived as promised in 2 days without a problem -with all the correct free bits (spare battery, hands free kit, charger) correct user manual and looking great. It came with quite an introductory pack from themobs and of course you can send it back without using it if there is a problem.
The only contact I had on the phone to the company was when I tried to order another phone from them for my girlfriend and they politely explained that I had to have my contract in place for 1 months before I could take out another phone and contract with them, but after 1 month had passed I would be quite welcome.

The deal that I chose involved a cash back claim, I claim a total of £279.12 Cashback in 2 stages. ½ at month 6 which I have already claimed and received (although it took 2 weeks to come through!) and ½ at month 12.

themobs also give you recommend a friend vouchers that if a friend takes out a contract with them and quote your number you get £20 paid into your bank and they do. I have had 2 referrals and they paid me £40!
All in all I have had no problems at all with themobs.com and friends that have also used them have had no problems and their web site made it easy for me to choose the phone I wanted.
