Registration is completely free, and once you have registered you are able to access all the forums and discussions and also contribute your own financial input plus complete your own member profile. You can display your own website URL and choose whether to have your email address visible to other members. There are a number of categories you can browse through, including fun sections where you can post ideas and tips for free money sites, freebies and samples etc. You can also privately message other registered members if you need more info on a topic they have posted, or want to answer questions individually rather than on site. You can even include smileys in your own messages and postings. Some categories also allow you to use HTML in your postings, depending whether the moderator has enabled this facility. If you are embarrassed about one of your postings, either it’s too dated or no longer accurate/appropriate, you can edit or delete at any time.
Registered members provide most of the information, and overall the quality of their advice and information is very good. The site owners and their category moderators also vet postings carefully and any rude, inappropriate or abusive postings are deleted very quickly and the perpetrator rapped firmly on the knuckles or booted off the site altogether!
One of the most popular forum categories is ‘Life Assurance Companies News’, which discusses latest demutualisation news and offers plenty of advice and comment for carpetbaggers to dwell or act on. You can choose how many latest topics within each category to view, from the last 2 days right up to the last year, or even list all of them if you have an hour or so to spare whilst the page loads!
The site also has a very efficient search facility on almost every viewable page so you can find information on any financial product, service or institution very quickly indeed. You can also search for users that you particularly trust by typing in their member name.
For those looking for the most up to date information, you might want to check out the ‘Daily Active Topic List’ that gives you a list of all the topics posted on that day. This is particularly useful for those wanting the latest information perhaps on their own Life Assurance Company or Building Society, Bank etc.
Overall, this is a good site full of mostly accurate information posted by members with a good grounding in financial matters and the site owners and moderators certainly know their stuff. Give it a try; I have learned a lot since becoming a member and I try to visit at least once a week for the latest hot news!
Advantages: gives advice to make money Disadvantages: none i can see
I came across this site some months ago.
I have already benefitted from its suggestion to open an account with the Bradford and Bingley some time ago. I am pretty sure that there are a bunch of well clued up guys and girls running the site and it has a professional feel to all the pages.
There is a page on Building Societies/ and future tips
Life Companies and any demutualisations

Advantages: Expert contributors and interesting debates Disadvantages: No real time share prices (but who cares).
The Money Bag is a money discussion site with over 2000 registered members and many more readers. It contains good advice on "traditional" carpetbagging (building societies) as well as the more complex Life Co route to getting windfalls.
It offers free Independent Financial Advice as well as a fun section for just chit-chat.
Over the months a lot of new features have been added such as private messages between users, and a league table.
Some very ...

Advantages: Good advice, many links to freebies and offers Disadvantages: none
themoneybag.com is a great website for a variety of financial discussions. The range of topics has expanded since its beginning to include many interesting opportunities.
The centre of the site is really the discussion forum, for which you must subscribe. My favorite section is the 'Deals, offers and freebies' section. People post daily tips on new freebies - in the past i've managed to get a a free case of 12 bottles of wine, a free torch, free ... ...other things. The posts are always a pleasure to read, since the members all keep a rather witty tone.
The financial aspect of the site is great. If you ever have any questions on credit cards, specific bank accounts, or anything else in general, just post it and you'll be sure to get lots of answers. I was tipped off to credit cards with 0% APR for the first sixth months, or credit cards with free mobile phone offers.

Advantages: Get wealthy here! Disadvantages: Easy to spend a lot of time at this site
The site provides a forum for information and discussion on a range of wealth enhancing ideas. Carpetbagging is certainly well represented, both Building Societies and Life Insurance. Come here to find out what is happening with te Bradford and Bingley payout, or whether a policy with Liverpool Victoria might be a good bag.
Coverage is good on topics including internet shares. There are also so more lighthearted sections. Visitors should find in ...

Advantages: postal account Disadvantages: lowering interest rates seemingly unjustifiably
The Scarborough Building Society today announces their new investment rates. In general there is a drop of 0.25 % on many of the accounts it offers.
I am seriously looking around to determine whether I can get better interest rates from an instant access account than from the postal notice accounts on offer from the society. It always pays to check the interest rates on a regular basis with societies that reduce their rates at times when there has been no reduction in base rates.
I suppose one of the benefits that may come from the society is if they demutualise. (see comments on www.themoneybag.co.uk for more information on this subject) ...
