I have long been a fan of the Carpetbagger website, but would also like to recommend a similar site that provides topical information about personal finance and money related issues. Moneybag is free to join but you do need to register first. There are currently over 5000 registered members and you can tell how many members are active at any one time, the most ever online at any one time being 51 as recorded last month.
Anyway, on the site itself. The site is divided up into a number of sections, and each section lists the number of posts and associated threads, together with the date of the last post. The whole bulletin board is moderated and is very entertaining.
There is a section on banks and building societies, life assurance companies, stockmarket investments (be very wary and always do your own research), mortgages/loans and property. The miscellaneous and fun stuff section offers lighthearted banter, although my favourite section is deals, offers and freebies, which runs a discussion board on various specials deals and consumer issues (ideal for any ciao members). Other sections cover taking a gamble, promotions and adverts and there is even a beginners corner.
All in all this is a really useful and informative site, and I am sure that once you have visited it you will want to return and will list it under your favourites. The site is easy to use and well organised.
