The website offers often quite detailed financial news as it breaks and provides analysis, opinions and commentary on a good range of stocks and market sectors. There is a good email update service that is sent twice a day with news on the state of market.
Always a good feature is a fantasy investment ... ...want. The 1st prize being £5,000. Another good feature is the portfolio tracker where you can watch your favourite stock’s price movements.
Overall, a good site for UK investors and easy to navigate, but it can be a little short on the information you want.

I'm surprised to find that I'm the first person to write a review on "thestreet". It is certainly in the premier league of financial websites. The main reason I use "thestreet" is for their excellent articles on the stock market and on companies making the news that day. It's 'real' journalists writing the reviews which makes the reviews interesting and usually they inject an element of humour into their articles (which could otherwise be dry and ... ...afternoon stockmarket reviews by email. As well as the above you can get stock market quotes (delayed) and join a fantasy stock martket competition. You pick your fantasy portfolio and the best performing portfolio per week receives £1,000 cash. (It also gets you used to investing if you're not an active trader......plus it's far safer than putting all your very real money in the next Boo.com!) This is only scratching the surface of "thestreet" though. ...

I went through a period of using The Street which lasted about a month before i gave up, mainly because of the poor quality of the update emails. The site itself is good and the news relatively well written but the main aspect of the service which appealed to me was the prospect of getting twice daily financial news updates sent to my inbox. This was a novelty that appealed, however, for about two days. The emails were disjointed and it was difficult ... ...a news story. Plus the breakdown just gave you the first couple of lines of each story and then a URL to go to the site. This was nothing like what i am after - i wanted a succinct round up, not a list of nes stories to access and then read as this made the whole process more tiem consuming then just logging on every day to read the news. ...

I saw The Street website advertised in the paper, so I decided to register with them. Basically they are a financial website, giving details of everything and anything to do with money. If you register they can send you e-mail updates (optional) every morning and afternoon, to keep you in touch with the stockmarket.
They also recently gave a special guide on charts. I found this really interesting as it gave me another way to look at investing, ...

The street is one of the most informative financial sites on the web. I visit the street almost every day to keep up to date with what is happening in the city. The sites home page is very clean and clear there is not too much information thrown at you all at once. The sites clean pages means that they are quick to load and very easy to navigate. If you choose to read a particular article they are always well written, very informative with lots of ... ...are always links that will take you to more information on the company or subject matter. There is a portfolio tracker in the site and you can look up stock quotes easily. The street send out two regular emails one in the morning letting people know what has happened over night and a very basic evening email. There are also message boards for you to look at and sections on personal finance and various funds. ...
