Advantages: Great range of seeds Disadvantages: None
Thompson and Morgan's catalogue (online and print) is interesting and filled with wonderful seeds you can grow. My wife is not keen on buying plants that have already been started. "Where is the fun in that?" she muses. "Don't people know the true joy of growing from seed?"
It has to be said that she has a good point and that the Thompson and Morgan website certainly helps her to fulfil her ambition of not buying ready started plants, buy providing ... ...and thus grow yourself, from scratch.
The web site is easy to navigate and has simple, easy to read and easy to understand instructions for even the Internet virgin.
There's a cheery introduction by Michael Perry, the specialist project manager, which contains a promise that if you are not satisfied, then Thompson and Morgan will replace the plant or give you a refund. Thompson and Morgan have been in business since 1855 and, to this day, they ...

Advantages: Good results every time Disadvantages: Too much to choose from
I was a customer of Thompson and Morgan long before I discovered their website. I have always found them to be totally reliable and their plants and other goods arrive in perfect condition.
My first experience of their website was very pleasurable. It was nice to be able to look up the plant you wanted and find photos of all the colours and varieties.
Shopping is just as easy, just add to your shopping basket - and on to the next item! The basket ... ...to make decisions that can't be made immediately. There are also several different departments, - for seeds, young plants, etc. There is even one for birds which supplies nesting-boxes, bird tables and seed. They have a separate plant list for each catalogue they supply through the post so if you want further information on something you have already seen it is very easy to find. I find that shopping from the website is easier than through the post ...

Quick review of thompson-morgan.com Review ofthompson-morgan.comby
Taranto
I am appalled that, without first ascertaining their acceptability, T&M sent me dissimilar poor substitutes of various colours for my order of 40 blue Priscilla. An accompanying note with a £2.50 Gift Voucher gave the reason as "due to unexpected demand." Delivery was 13th June for an order given on 6th April. Furthermore, my account was debited on 18th April!
For many years from June to September, hanging baskets of blue Priscilla have provided a glorious spectacle at the front of my property. Now on 9th July 2007, the total lack of any display is surely a testimony to T&M's extremely poor service!
Apart from spam promotions, there has been no reply to my letter of complaint (dated 18th June) to the Managing Director.
Advantages: Shop from home with built in gurantee Disadvantages: Nail biting while waiting for goods to arrive
Thompson & Morgan, in my opinion, are the finest source of mail order seeds, plants and bulbs. The company was established in 1855 and have just got better and better.
I have been a customer of theirs for several years and have never recieved any defective products. Very colourful and informative catologues are available free of charge. These catologues are small enough to slip into the pocket and yet contain all the information you may need on ... ...your home, you can contact them if you have any specific questions and, when filling in your order form, you can stipulate when you want delivery or you can leave it to them to send you your selection at the appropriate planting time. The catologue aways features special offers, such as: Cyclamen Neapolitanum at only £5 each. This compares with a average price of £10.

This is what I've just written to Thompson-Morgan Customer Care.
Order Number: T06628910
Delivery of Busy Lizzie plants. Please note that I called the Customer Care team last Saturday 4th May as I had recieved these plants and upon opening the box had found that they had desintegrated and were dying. The gentleman I spoke with confirmed that a refund would be made to the effect of £10.99 and this transaction would go through in the next few days ... ...post. It has now been a week and no refund is forthcoming even though I have now made the purchase of plants elsewhere due to timescales and the disappontment with the package delivered.
This is the only email address found on the Thompson - Morgan website and although I can call the customer care phone line I'm just not happy to pay for a call that has already been made and also the facts are better recorded in an email as there is no other way ...
