Though not so special as i'd expected, there is still no doubt that 'Thornton's Special Toffee' is easily the second best i've tasted (the best being my mother's special home-made toffee of course).
For toffee lovers out there commercial toffee in my opinion does not get much better than this. Full flavoured, sweet and creamy and perfect texture. Not too sticky but just enough to bring back memories of walking home from school, jaws aching from gobfuls of delightful toffee.
At a cost of £1.39 i'd have to say it's quite a bargain and a treat for many being not only suitable for vegetarians, but gluten-free and alcohol free to boot!
Personally i do prefer Thornton's nuttier toffees but nonetheless these sweet little delights are addictive enough to drive one nuts! I couldn't stop eating them. There goes my carefully planned diet!
