Disadvantages Customer Care
Its now lunchtime, and as I've spent the entire morning trying to get tickets for an event, I'm not in a good mood. Its not even a major gig, just a small local concert. Went online, and as its near the date understandably there was no option to have tickets delivered. But the option box to pick up tickets from the box office was for international customers, the UK was not on the drop down box and so my credit card details would not go through. No problem, I'll give them a call I thought, little knowing how difficult that would be. There are several "customer service" numbers dotted about the website which appear to be somewhat hidden as they obviously prefer online transactions but these numbers led nowhere. Even when I found an option that said I would be connected to a person, it still took me back to an automated service. In the end, I rang what I thought was the venue, which actually took me to a REAL ticketmaster booking person! He was great, completed my transaction, and was really helpful, but if I hadn't got hold of him I'd have given up. I came away thinking that the artist, venue and ticketmaster were within 2 minutes of losing almost a hundred quids worth of business. Actually, when I get the phone bill for all those 08 call, I bet its cost me well over!!
