Advantages: Share price Disadvantages: Slow, lacking content and style.
The Times Money site doesn’t look pretty, and unless you are after a certain level of personal finance and business news, and aren’t put off by chunky text and a distinct lack of style, then you aren’t going to find what you are looking for. The home page lists business nibs which are kept up-to-date nicely but the lack of hyperlinks to related news items is annoying. Also, the layout of the top icons is poorly thought out and scroll off the page ... ...include Mortgages, Borrowing, Investing, Borrowing, Tax, Pensions, etc - all the usual areas. The sub categories are slow to load and soon lead away from the Times site to others with greater content. The Glossary of terms is quite useful but the page could again use hyperlinks to flesh out the content. ...for around 2 or 3 minutes work which obviously they can’t.
The leaflets they hand out when they open your bank accounts stating their fees and charges would be laughed at if it went to court.
Look on the net, look in the media, it’s advertised everywhere, the banks have no defence.
Charges are ok but as stated before, they can not make a profit from the transaction which they have been doing.
Its the actual amount they have been charging which is unlawful.
