Tombola.com has been around as long as I've been using the internet. It's a game site where you play simple games for free and, if you're very lucky, you can win cash prizes of up to several thousands pounds. EXTRAS
There is an extra scheme they run called PLAY MATES. If you refer someone to Tombola and they win a prize, you get £20. Unless they win a £5 cd-wow voucher, in which case you get the same.
ADDICTABILITY
As you can see, the games are simple in the extreme and pose no challenge to even the tiniest brain. Which means they're not really much fun in themselves. But then neither are real scratch cards or fruit machines, and they're as popular as ever.
You play Tombola to see if you can win. End of story.
All well and good, but what are your chances of winning?
Well, that's a closely guarded secret, but as Tombola declares itself 'one of the stickiest sites on the web' - i.e. it is VERY popular - they're probably not high.
I've been playing almost daily for a couple of years now and I've won one £5 voucher in that time.
People DO win though - every single day - and if you want to know who they are, there is a Hall of Fame link where you have a nosey.
It costs nowt, it takes 5 minutes of your day while you're online anyway, and you've absolutely nothing to lose.
Any other info?
Yes, the site is nicely designed, being clean and crisp on a white background, making it easy on the eye. And with only about 7 pages on the entire site, navigation is simplicity itself.
If you're interested, Tombola UK is based in Sunderland. The parent company is the Edward Thompson Group, founded in the 1870s, who have been producing bingo tickets since 1957, making them one of the leading manufacturers in the world, supplying to over 45 countries globally. So there!
In the last two and a half years, the site has given away more than £1,700,000.
The site also contains a demographic profile of the people who play. And would you believe that the largest single group by job status are SENIOR MANAGEMENT?!
So THAT'S what they're really doing when the door's closed and they're not taking calls.
DON'T LET THEM GET AWAY WITH IT - START PLAYING NOW AND BEAT THEM TO THE PRIZES! YOU NEED IT MORE THAN THEY DO.
Advantages: Free money, fast site, easy games Disadvantages: Offers from their sponsors (SPAM)
I've never been a lover of online competition sites, partly due to my pessimistic outlook, so I was very sceptical about joining Tombola until my friend won £50. Well I thought, if he can win then why can't I? So I signed up, played every day for about a month and won £10. That was over five months ago, but I keep going and I keep trying 'cos you never know, do you?
So what is Tombola all about then? Free money. That's right FREE MONEY FOR YOU (if ... ...very well laid out, with the navbar links on the left and the game loads on the right. That's what I find refreshing about this site. You play a little game, and you could win, and it only takes about a minute per game. Some sites I've been to insist that you play for over an hour and then you're put in a draw.
The games on Tombola change quite frequently and currently they are:
I-Scratch
A virtual scratchcard much like the ones that you can buy ...

Advantages: It's free. Disadvantages: I haven't had a big win yet.
Tombola is a site where each day you can play a variety of games to win money. The number of games varies, at present you can play up to seven games . The games are all pure chance, mainly matching symbols or numbers, but the most important thing is that it is FREE to play.

I am also glad to report that registration with this site has not resulted in a load of unsolicited e-mail. I have only received the odd update from Tommy at Tombola when a new game or prize has become available.

...how I ended up on tombola.com but somehow I did, probably a year and a half ago. Since then I’ve played on and off when I’ve got bored at work, or when I’m feeling lucky, but to this day I have not won a penny. Zilch. Absolutely nothing. But I still keep playing….. UPDATE 28/02/2002 - This morning I received a cheque through the post for £20, proving that Tombola do give out cash to real people. I highly recommend the site!
Yes, we'd all love £5000. What would you spend it on? A holiday, or perhaps a new computer? Maybe you'd stick it in the bank account with the rest of your savings, or maybe you'd buy all of the latest CDs and games. For most people, a spare £5000 to spend on anything is only a dream, but ... ...The first thing that you'll have to do is sign up, which is really simple. It's just a matter of providing a few details, and then you're off to try and win some money. The basic concept of Tombola is to play simple online games, and have the chance to win some cash. The games are easy scratch card type games, but don't be put off by how simple the games are - this could be the ticket to having all your dreams come true. There are usually five games ...

Tombola.com? What's that? Dearie me, where have you been? Surely all you money earners out there haven't passed by one of the easiest ways to grab a few bob on the Internet. No, no that wasn't a guarantee from me, but more about that later. All you have to do to be in with a chance is to register on the site and partake in a few games. Its all completely free and there's no annoying banners to click on various companies advertising. The site is very ... ...of course there's adverts, mostly of a gambling nature, but how else will they make their money?, there also a distinct lack of annoying pop-ups, dare I say far fewer than a particular site I am currently perusing! These are I-scratch which consists of scratching panels from a lovely little picture, this changes periodically, usually being season based. Halloween was a picture ...
