….Yeah right and Pigs might fly or even more unbelievable, Newcastle United might actually win something!

Having read so many positive reviews on here regarding the site of “Tombola.com”, I decided to go and take a look at what everyone was raving about, this was several months ago and I have been to the site on very numerous occasions since, unfortunately still waiting for my first win!

The thing I’d like to know is “Will that win ever appear?”

I personally doubt it, as I see the site as nothing but a con, well not actually a con, but a bit similar to those useless scratch-cards we are forever getting through the post or bundled into the newspapers, you know, the ones that say you’ve won a prize and to phone this number, you then find out the number will cost you something like £1.50 per minute and you win something like a 99 pence pair of plastic sunglasses.

The site is quick loading and nice and bright colour-wise, but it’s a bit bare, there are six games to play, to which only takes about five minutes of your time to complete all six, the games are as follows:

I-scratch:

This game is just a simple scratch-card, yeah you know, where you have uncover three symbols of the same type and you win a cash prize or a £5.00 Amazon voucher. You get nine covered symbols, to which you need scratch off the imaginary silver coating; the idea is to unveil three of the prize-giving symbols.

The prizes available are as follows; £5,000, £200, £100, £50, £20 and a £5 Amazon voucher.

Every single time I play this game, I unveil two of the £5,000 symbols and never get the third, which is hardly surprising, as I doubt very much anyone ever has or ever will for that matter, I suspect the most anyone wins is an Amazon voucher and what’s the bets that Amazon are actually one of the sites sponsors! And what are the bets they make a tidy sum off any referrals they send their (Amazon’s) way.

The Heist:

Once you have done your daily scratch-card, and once again failed to win anything, you are then offered the chance to play another game called “The Heist”. To play this you need to enter your email address and you are sent a combination to a make believe safe, to which “Shifty the thief” will try and enter (with the combination you were sent), should he be successful, you win £20,000!

Yeah right, just as if the site is going to give you twenty grand for the sake of playing a game, me being a cynic, thinks it’s just another email grabber, to send you endless Spam-mail!

Hamster:

Hamster is a pretty straightforward race game, it involves a race between six hamsters and the idea is, you get the correct forecast, meaning the hamsters that will come 1st and 2nd in the race. The thing is, you don’t actually choose what hamsters you want to represent you in the race, you’re automatically given your two hamsters. Every time I play this, one of my hamsters either wins or comes second and the other one is usually miles back, I wouldn’t mind betting the same race is given to everyone and no-one in fact wins a carrot off the game.

Should your hamsters come in 1st and 2nd in the correct order, and then you win anything up to £2,000. Needless to say, you NEVER win and once the race finishes, you are given the chance to sign-up for “Paddy Power Bookmakers” and receive a free £10 bet, now me being an affiliate program user of Paddy Power, I know that they pay around £7.00 for each referral you send to them, so once again, Tombola.com are probably making quite a few bob on the users that take up the offer.

Hang-on:

This is similar to the scratch-card game, but in this game you are required to burst balloons to which will reveal a cash amount of a certain value and once again, you are required to get three and you win that amount.

The available prizes for this game are; £1,000, £200, £100, £50, £20 and a £5 Amazon voucher.

Once again, I reckon the most you’d ever win is a £5.00 Amazon voucher and I can’t see anyone ever winning the £2,000 cash prize, actually I reckon no-one wins ANY cash prizes, if you have, then prove me wrong and let me know.

Last Minute (Cash for questions):

Last minute is a simple quiz game, you are given a collection of twelve answers and in turn, you are given a question to which will be relevant to one of the answers, should you know the answer, you then click on the relevant box and a correct symbol along with a monetary value will be revealed, but should you get the wrong answer, you are asked to try again, should you once again click on the incorrect answer, you are once again told to try again, as a matter of fact, you don’t even have to know the answers, as you can click on any square until you get the correct answer and the cash amount! What’s the bloody point? If they were going to give out the cash prizes of anything up to £1,000, do you think they’d allow you to constantly answer the questions incorrectly?

Once the quiz has finished, you are left on the “Lastminute.com” web site! How convenient don’t you think?

Prize lines:

Prize lines is a bingo type of game, you are given what appear to be a bingo card, which has four lines on it, each of these lines has a cash value next to it, the cash values are; £5,000, £500, £100 and £20. On the right-hand side of the screen, you’ll see ten floating dog paw imprints, the idea is, you click on these imprints and a number will be revealed, this number will now be high-lighted on your bingo card. To win, you are required to complete any of your lines and should you be lucky enough to do this, you win the cash value adjoined to the line.

Once again, once you’ve had your daily loss, you are left on the Lycos site, to who actually sponsor the game of Prize Lines! Once again, how convenient.

There is also a chance to win off anyone you refer to their site, this is called “Play-mates” and the idea is, you refer someone to the site, they include your email address in the referral link whilst signing up and should they win a cash prize, then you yourself win £20 or should your referral win a Amazon voucher, then you yourself gets an Amazon voucher for the same value.

Not bad I hear you say! Yet there is a catch, you see there is a rule that you have to have played a game on the site at least once in the seven days prior to your referral winning, so should you refer someone and they win whilst you have not recently used the site, well you don’t get a carrot.

And that’s about it, a collection of games that no one actually wins anything off, yet the site Tombola.com probably makes a bloody mint on affiliate earnings off their sponsors.

Ok, maybe I’m being a bit cynical and yes, I suppose the games are free and a bit of fun to play, but I just think they (Tombola.com) could do a lot more with the site and I also think they should have winnable games to play, instead of these few games, that are so obviously set-up to give you nothing but Amazon.com vouchers.

So do I recommend the site? Well yes for a bit of fun and no should you want to actually win anything, I’ll leave it up to you to decide.
