Ours almost went on fire today. We had smoke coming out of it, the outside of it was red hot to the touch, and my husband badly burnt his hands trying to remove the clothes from the inside. Whirlpool have told us that they will send an engineer out, but that as it is outside warranty this will be chargeable! This machine nearly went on fire and I am furious that this is the response.

At only 14 months old my machine is increasingly noisy, spinning inefficiently and the detergent drawer recurrently clogs when I use fabric softener. I don't think it picks up the softener as well as it should. I emailed Servis when the machine was only 11 months old to ask how the problem of detergent/softener clogging should be prevented, and they told me to remove and wash the drawer between washes. Useless advice - I know how to unblock it. Such a patronising response was embarassing. I use my washing machine approx 2x daily, and so I appreciate washers won't last so long for... more

...my large family as they might for a family of 4, but finding myself trawling through Which? reports after a mere14 months? .....disappointing.

Rubber pipe from soap draw rubs against drum or side if machine (take your pick) and leaks this has been replaced 3 times in the last 2 years then an updated plastic pipe was fitted this last 12 months give or take a few weeks and has now been replaced, This time i'm enclosed the plastic pipe in 22mm foam pipe insulation this seems to have done the trick... HOOVER TAKE NOTE!

My machine has gone wrong twice in less than14 months. It is now condemned! The machine takes well over 2 hrs to do a 40 degree everyday wash. I would never reccommend anyone to buy this appauling machine.
