Brackenrigg Inn
A lunch experience of quite unspeakable awfulness. The pub was hardly busy and there seemed to be plenty of staff around - but as customers we were at times invisible. A food order took 40 minutes to appear. We ordered Fish pie and its ...

The Wonderful Old Vicarage in Ambleside
Review of The Old Vicarage, Ambleside by
led_zeppelin_88
Advantages: Pool, sauna, jacuzzi, breafast, great rooms
Disadvantages: Parking tricky with large car, but at least they have a car park!
The Old Vicarage is probably the best B&B I can ever remember staying at! They have plenty of off-road parking for guests, even if it does require a little manouvering if you have a larger car, everything else certainly makes up for that. The owners are e ...

Hall Lot of Levens
Review of Levens Hall, Kendal by
Borg
Advantages: Easy to get to, wonderful gardens
Disadvantages: Bit dear
On my ex wife's thirtieth birthday, I surprised her with a trip to this stately home. This visit was not the reason as to why she became the ex Mrs Borg (nor was it cited in the grounds for divorce), I must stress, as we both enjoyed our little excursion ...

Advantages: Could not be better positioned at the heart of Coniston.

Quick review of Yewdale Hotel, Coniston
Review of Yewdale Hotel, Coniston by
saintsandra
We went to the Yewdale on the 4th July for an evening meal. We arrived at 7:30, and ordered a meal for four. When we arrived it did not look particularly busy, and we were not told that we would have to wait over an hour for our food. The food when it eventually arrived was not as described on the menu, and was totally unsatisfactory. We complained and got a small refund. All I can say is do not eat here!!!
