Disadvantages: Room - small, dark (very small window), uncomfortable and short beds :( Bahroom - small, narrow (90 cm) like train - it's hard to brush your hair in it, shower above the toilet :( Towels in room - thin like a kitchen cloth :( Food - very fat cusine, poor choice of dishes, a lot of insects in the canteen... Quick review of Alberelli farmhouse, Nibbiaia, Tuscany
Review of Alberelli farmhouse, Nibbiaia, Tuscany by chrisv

If you want a perfect base for exploring Tuscany, or just wish to stay put and soak in the atmosphere, then this is definitely the place for you. There is a spectacular view of the sea and the rolling Tuscan hills. There are 5 apartments in this traditional rustic farmhouse, that are suitable for both couples and families. I strongly recommend staying here, just make sure to book in advance. You can find more information about the place here: http://www.alberelli.com/eng/home.htm

Quick review of Le Volpaie, San Gimignano
Review of Le Volpaie, San Gimignano by timbest

Lovely family run Hotel set in the hills outside Castel San Gimignano. Luca and Anna are marvellous hosts and they have clientelle from around the world visiting them and revisitng as we do. The breakfast buffet is possibly the best we have tried in Italy. There is a lovely pool just big enough for a good swim and relax in after a day's sightseeing. There are two good restaurants nearby. A very relaxing stay and a warm welcome - what more could you want from the Italian side of Tuscany

Good location from which to explore Tuscany!
Review of Hotel Principe Piemonte, Viareggio by klofron

Advantages: Its a superb Hotel!
Disadvantages: Its a long walk to the other end of town if you are not fit!

We booked this Hotel through Crystal Italy a few weeks before we travelled . We paid approx £450 each for half board which compared with the brochure prices seemed too good to be true. The Hotel is built on a junction and like quite a few other Hotels ... Read review

More than a cruise line stop
Review of Livorno (Italy) by ScotKat

Advantages: Great for food and drink
Disadvantages: Cruise ships obstructing the view

Sadly, most visitors to Livorno are on their way somewhere else. Many cruise liners use this pretty Tuscan port as their quickest route to the well known sights of Pisa, Florence and Siena, and as such the town itself it is almost always neglected by ... Read review

Not the da VINCI Code
Review of Vinci by proxam

Advantages: Leonardo's birthplace
Disadvantages: Leonardo overload

Phantasmagorical review! Hey, been wanting an excuse to use that word. I've got an embarrassing confession. On the menu at the Hotel Da Vinci
Review of Hotel Da Vinci, Vinci by proxam

Advantages: Shiny new hotel, modern and comfortable
Disadvantages: Not the most interesting town in Tuscany

The 4-star Hotel Da Vinci lies just on the other side of the River Arno from the town centre of Empoli. It's an easy walk from the hotel to all that the town has to offer, unfortunately that's not really an awful lot. On the plus side, it's an easy hotel ... Read review
