Pao de Acucar - art deco splendour
Review of Residencial Pao de Acucar, Porto by casadacha

Advantages: very beautiful, helpful staff
Disadvantages: interesting bathrooms

I have stayed at the Pao de Acucar twice and have enjoyed it both times. It has a fantastic art deco staircase and art deco furniture in the lobby and also in the rooms. The rooms vary, some have very old fashioned (art deco?) bathrooms - we had one ... Read review

Great for plane spotters
Review of Ipanema Park Hotel, Porto by jtamagnini

Advantages: Good location to transport links
Disadvantages: Can be a noisy night

The Ipanema Park is now about 15 year old and needing a bit of TLC however it is still a great hotel. It is located near Pasteleira which is a social housing area but do not be detracted from it. As with all major European cities it is also near Boavista ... Read review

This foundation/museum/park is in just next to Avenida Boavista in Porto. It has a local taxi rank next to it and plenty of bus stops. The entrance is hidden down a side alley but once you find it you will find yourself in a time warp. The building i ... Read review

Advantages: Great access to it by public transport as it is in main shopping district,
Disadvantages: No access for disabled and lots of steps
