Good review. When I stayed in Ljubljana I was put in the Hotel Lev, which was good, but also not cheap. We did two day trips to Ljubljana when we were there this August, and agree it is a lovely city. Adam by lobourse

cYou have done Ljubljana justice, thank you! And, ashamed to admit, you are much up-to-date what is going on there than me after I left to live in UK 7 years ago :) One thing I love and I am not sure you experienced - a market and fish market near Ljubljanica. And in summer time, if you ever manage to go, it is hot, but the old part just comes alive with different events! June 26 is the day to be there as well as it is national holiday and you can expect celebrations in old city and a firewroks display from the castle. Also, close to Christmas, the old town is really nicely lit, with stalls selling hot roasted chestnuts that warm your hands in the cold winter evening, there are stalls with presents to buy, stalls with mulled wine... all just smells of Christmas... and then, a big New Year street party! So, if you ever go back, contact me, I might get you some local contacts who know about life in the city :) Oh, and there is a new hostel open where old army barracks were. It is called CELL as bedrooms are actually converted prison cells :) by marsupialmama

I am off to Slovenia for a wek in February. The currency is still the Tolar, but some places will accept the Euro because it is moe useful to them. Your English is fine but unfortunatley your review is patchy. You say do not go to the BIT centre but anyone who does not know the city will not know what you are talking about. More detail needed. You talk alot about bars and coffee shops but not much about the sights. by fizzytom
