Life Ain't a Beach Here
Review of Travellers Beach Hotel, Malindi by Seagreen

Advantages: If all you want is to lie by a pool and eat stodge, it's fine
Disadvantages: Pretty much anything else

*Overall - a disappointing stay. The grounds, pool etc. are pleasant enough and the rooms are fine. It was unfortunately the people that ruined it. As a young woman alone, I felt very much like an object of curiosity to all and often felt vulnerable.* ... Read review

Worth the hassle
Review of Tsavo East National Park (Kenya) by pbryer

Advantages: wildlife, scenery, people, game parks, safari
Disadvantages: danger of robbery and violence, beaches, hassle

The sense of menace was clear and tangible. We were in a taxi completing the brief journey from Malindi's tiny airport to our hotel on the east coast of Kenya. As we looked out of the car windows as we passed through a couple of villages we were eyeballed ... Read review

Fabulous review, although not a place I'm at all tempted to visit! I'm too nervous a person about being mugged and animals and safari type trips don't appeal to me at all for some reason. Yes, as J says below, glad to hear you didn't sell your missus for drugs! x by anonymili
Very good review....Yet again everything needed tomake this a good read. Well done and I am glad you didn't swap your wife for drugs LOL.... Thanks. J. by headcase44

The beauty of the Mara
Review of Masai Mara National Park (Kenya) by Sophie-Kaia

Advantages: learning about an amazing culture/stunning scenery/up close with the animals
Disadvantages: food and drink where we were staying was not inclusive so rather expensive

I travelled to the Mara as a part of a seven day safari. I stayed at the Serena lodge for one night and spent two fantastic days here. The beauty of the Maasai Mara is the abundance of wildlife, we went on four game drives and were not disappointed onc ... Read review

Awful
Review of Sun n' Sand Beach, Kikambala by HARVEYAPOLLO326

Advantages: Hot weather
Disadvantages: Everything else

I stayed here in December 2007 and have to say I had the worst holiday ever! The resort is a secure compound and is very isolated. This left me feeling as if I was under house arrest and I could have been anywhere - This would have been ok if the sea/b ... Read review

Advantages: Diverse city with many attractions

Disadvantages: Niave Tourists

The only time I ever stayed at a resort hotel was in Malindi, just north of Mombasa in Kenya. I couldn't get comfortable with people skivying for me and living in really basic facilities while I was treated like a lord. The tourist industry has got to aim for better than that! by cwestern
