Review of Le Meridien Commodore, Beirut by banginbird

Advantages: Friendly staff and good amenities.
Disadvantages: Local Press

I visited Le Meridien Commodore in January 2007. Visiting Beirut was an amazing eye-opening experience, and my stay at this 5 star hotel helped to make me feel safe and comfortable. The staff are brilliant, friendly and always willing to help, the food wa ... Read review

Quick review of Temples of Baalbek, Beirut
Review of Temples of Baalbek, Beirut by nadime

Yes Baalbeck is very interesting, I have visited twice after a long car journey through the Beka Valley and on to Zahle then to Beirut. I found walking around this ancient site mesmerizing, over a large area you can walk round freely and touch the stone and sit and take in the size of the coloumns made of rose granite and wonder about how they were built. It is breathtaking believe me. Hard to visit at the current time, but a treasure all the same.

Beautiful Baalbek
Review of Temples of Baalbek, Beirut by clarenceh

Advantages: Fantastic Roman Ruins
Disadvantages: Very hot in summer months

I visited this wonderful roman ruin a few years ago and it is far more impressive and spectacular than the Acroplis in athens (i have been there too!). The magnificent Temple of Bacchus is virtually intact and the surrounding columns and fantastic carved ... Read review

Hi this is a good start but Im afraid it would be more helpful if you could include information about entry costs (if there are any) how easy it was to travel to and from the location etc. I realise that your visit was a while ago but it would be helpful to anyone thinking about visiting to have an idea of that kind of information, or to be directed to somewhere that can provide it. Review of Quality Inn, Tripoli by Aloush

Advantages: Clean, friendly staff, relatively cheap.
Disadvantages: No frills in rooms

The Quality Inn I don't want to repeat what Vodkaboy wrote in his thorough review of the hotel in 2005, so I will just add my own particular observations from my recent stay at this hotel in October 2006. Tripoli is geographically in the North of ... Read review

Hi. I'd love to go to Lebanon, like weetoon, I love Lebanese food too. I'd like to know a bit more about the place though. I think many people have rated it only somewhat helpful because your review is quite difficult to read - there's no punctuation and it reads as just one long sentence. Let me know in my guestbook if you alter it and I will happily come by and re-rate it. cheers, jayne by jayne30165
I have always heard it said that Lebanese people were very urbane. I also love Lebanese food. Your review is not really telling me enough though. It just gives a glimpse of that country and I , for one, would love to hear more from someone who has been there. by weetoon

A site not to be missed
Review of Faraya by Mrs.Nadine

Advantages: mountain and countryside atmosphere and yet, not too far from the sea shore
Disadvantages: A bit expensive

Faraya is the name of a small mountain village in Lebanon. It is one of Lebanon's tourist citations for many reasons. The first reason that makes it an attraction is the weather. If you are visiting Lebanon in the summer, than spending few days in faraya ... Read review

Paradise missed! (Or so it would seem)
Review of General: Lebanon by Librelola

Advantages: Rich historical and archaeological as well as cultural country
Disadvantages: Not many for tourists, but slightly expensive

The Lebanon may not seem an ideal holiday destination to many, but to some, the idea is rather tempting. Most people are in a sense still frightened, because of the war that tore the country for over 15 years, from 1975 (although some say earlier) until ... Read review

Disadvantages: basic, poor breakfast

I've visited Lebanon a few times during 2003 and 2004. On the last trip I was lucky to be able to get up to northern Lebanon, where the scenery is beautiful, especially in and around the mountains. I stayed in a city called Tripoli - yes, it's confusing h ... Read review

Advantages: The virgin diving to Westerners

Diving is not my cup of tea. especially when there are so much exciting things are happening on the surface. Anyway, it's good that you rectify the faulty western image of Libanon - even though noone will believe you. War and destruction are still in peoples minds when they hear "Libanon" or "Beirut". I'm happy that I overcame my preoccupations and discovered one of the hippest places in the world to be nowadays. by SaschaT

Advantages: The Switzerland of the Middle East, beautiful scenery, wonderful cuisine
Disadvantages: Still a little unstable, driving is a little scary, still battle-scarred
