Quick review of Syeda Zainab
Review of Syeda Zainab by stallion_007

I m shite by birth and had been listening to zakir-e-Imam(A.S) and Masoomeen (A.S). But it was a surprise for me to listen and travel to Damascus to pay my homage to BIBI-Hazrat Zainab(A.S) in syria. It was one great experience , not only to visit one of the oldiest cities in the world but to visit Zariat of Masooma(A.S) and rest of the Zairats of Prophets, and Shouda in Kaburastan-e-Ghreebian, and the Ziarat of Prophet Yahya (A.S) in Darbar-e-Yazid, where Yazid kept the Head of the Greatest of IMAM's Hussain(A.S). it's a myrical that the surface of the area is still warm and hot while you say your prayers there.

Beautiful
Review of Syeda Zainab by mshah786uk

Advantages: Beautiful Place
Disadvantages: Crowded at times

Syeda Zainab. A few months back, I decided to go to Damascus, Syria on a pilgrimage to Syeda Zainab. Syeda Zainab is an area of which at the centre is the grave of Zainab, (daughter of Hadrat Fatima AS, and Imam Ali AS). Note that Hadrat Fatima AS, is ... Read review

Having just been there, I can say that it's a pity that the destruction wrought by the Abbasids and the Mongols has left its mark. Having said that, Damascus still is a very interesting destination to visit and your review has captured its oscillating history perfectly! by blinderben
This could have been Exceptional - IF this had contained a brief SECOND paragraph re-capping the "tourist" information (price from London for instance; plus the link to second review - which I realise you HAVE included, by the way) and an explanation of how understanding the history of the place enhanced your own visit (of date...)and slightly MORE detail of how much the entire area of Syria was controlled by Damascus during the History lesson. . . . . - .................................................................................................... ~ ♥ ~ jes ≈≈≈≈{; -)-{{::::: |||||< ♥♥ by jesi

Diamond review   One Long Day In A Modern Oasis
Review of Damascus (Syria) by Librelola

Advantages: A Friendly and Very Interesting City
Disadvantages: None really!

Damascus (Al-Shâm, in Arabic) is not a city to spend a single day in, but due to "forces majeures", I had a choice between not going there at all or going for a day. So I went for a (marathon) day… This happened last October, while I was in Lebanon, a ... Read review

Truly exceptional account! You captured what you felt in Damascus brilliantly - this is a great review. This is the sort of stuff Ciao should be more about! Good on you! by andyev
Is your sister unmarried, then? I must admit that my first thought when they asked you to wear the covering was that your "walk" had given you away - if your sister is unmarried it would also explain the difference being observable to an outsider, as you probably walked with more "confidence" - also that having had a child, your hips broaden somewhat - all-in-all a slightly more "provocative" appearance . . . . - .................................................................................................... ~ ♥ ~ jes ≈≈≈≈{; -)-{{::::: |||||< ♥♥ by jesi

Ageing but not past it yet
Review of Sheraton Hotel (Damascus) by Vodkaboy

Advantages: Spacious room, friendly, nice pub downstairs
Disadvantages: Dated, really needs a facelift

Just outside the Sheraton in Damascus is the world's biggest pot-hole. It is so big, it is a roundabout which is being turned into an underpass. It has taken a long time, as they have to keep pumping the water out. "That's because it is public," I was tol ... Read review

Great review...the only time I ever went there was to take part in a funrun organized by the Canadian Embassy...it was such a shambles, with half the participants taking shortcuts en route and half the free buffet being blown into the pool at the "party afterwards! Seemed quite a posh hotel then...do they still have the garden with marching music blaring from loudspeakers? by kassalawi
