The Battery Charger allows you to charge the notebook batteries while you use your notebook. You can also use the charger to charge spare batteries. Simply drop the battery into the Charger whenever you plug your notebook in at the office, and you will always have a fully charged battery available.

This charger takes up to 4 AA or AAA (slightly smaller than AA) sized batteries; charging either two or four at a time. It is capable of charging 4 batteries, either Ni-Cd's or Ni-MH type, in around 2 hours and is supplied with a mains power and a 12v cigarette lighter adaptor.
4 AA Ni-MH 1300 mAHbatteries are included with the charger, though its worth investing in some 1800 mAH or 2000 mAH ones for digital camera use as they last a bit longer. This charger is around the £25 mark, but you should be able to get it for less if you shop around. Good value for such a versatile device.
Its size (about the same as two packs of cards), weight (less than the batteries you put in it) and provision of a car charger makes it ideal to slip into a digital camera bag to recharge batteries on the move...

AA batteries = 2 x (2.8V) and charger for Ni-Cd or Ni-Mhbatteries.
I bought this charger and batteries to play with my new CD/MP3 player. When arriving home, I opened the box, read the instructions and decided "yes, fairly simple, I'll give it a go".
Let me note that there is a switch on this charger, and you can choose either Ni-Cd or Ni-Mh. Fairly simple to understand.
So, before plugging them in to charge, I put the switch to the correct side of the charger, and then plugged them in. A red light came on in the right slot, which also happened to be right next to the Ni-Cd, to indicate which side of the switch you choose. Just a coincidence, but I had to think for a moment that maybe it was charging Ni-Cd instead of Ni-Mh. I'm not sure how much of a wise design this is, but that was the only problem I...

Hahnel was not a name I was familiar with, so I did a little research - they are part of hähnel industries ltd. Who manufacture accessories for the camera and camcorder market. The company is one of the leading manufactures of power products for camcorder and digital cameras. They are known for their innovative products, and have been in business for over 44 years.
Sounded good to me, I went back on Ebay and found these reasonably priced at £6.59 for pack of four ('Buy Now' ). I sent off a cheque and batteries duly arrived a couple of days later.
