Hi, I am the Ciaoer formerly known as 'PJE'. Ciao added the flattened penis to the end of my username without my consent and then denied all knowledge of it, leaving me feeling slightly violated. How would they like having their name changed to Ciao_?

I thought it was a misprint until I checked it out. Yes, they really do let you store up to 50Mb of e-mail, and yes it is completely free. What happens when you exceed 50Mb I don't know because it has never happened, even when I've been unable to get online for weeks.
When I first started using the net and opened my first email account with Hotmail (doesn't everybody) I frequently got warning messages that I had exceeded my limit, and sometimes when I was unable to access it for more than a few days it started bouncing mail. So if you want to join mailgroups and send/receive lots of pics, or mp3 files, or if you don't get to access your mail regularly and it tends to pile up, then you need a big mailbox... and this is the biggest by far. It makes the others look like pygmies:- Mail.com let you store 5Mb, Yahoo 6Mb, Hotmail a puny 2Mb.
Even if you don't like the interface, it is useful as a back-up, or for online storage.

I don't know anything about the Totalise ISP but as a (supposed) shareholder in Totalise (I never quite managed to link through to their share claim site) I did get an e-mail recently which is rather mysterious:
"A situation has arisen that requires the Company to hold an extraordinary general meeting under section 142 of the Companies Act 1985... an extraordinary general meeting of the Company to be held at Princes Exchange, Princes Square, Leeds LS1 4BY on Tuesday 13 February 2001 at 9.00am "
