If I had been writing this review a few months back, I would have fully recommended TotaliseWebmail to anyone. It has a very reliable server (it failed only once last year after an overhaul), the online access to your emails is clear and has lots of useful tools, and it was easy to download mail into your email programs, such as Outlook. This all changed a few months ago, when Totalise sold it's email services to another company (I can't remember it's name, but they are a pay to use email service). The first slight change, but high impact change I noticed was that whenever I tried to send mail from Outlook, I was getting an error message. I checked on the Totalise website, and discovered that it is no longer possible to send mail directly from a mail program - you must be logged onto the internet and on the Totalise website to send emails. Then, at the end of November, I received an email from Totalise informing me that, as of 31 December, I must pay a monthly subscription of £2.50 to use the email service, or sign up to their ISP package. I actually had four email addresses with them, and was under the impression that the £2.50 was for unlimited email addresses. As I have many contacts and customers, I reluctantly signed up for the £2.50 a month charge. I then received another email, stating that if I wanted to keep all four email addresses, it would cost me £10 a month. I have been a loyal Totalise ISP and Email customer since they began, and only changed my ISP when they cancelled their "Unlimited Surf" package about 18 months ago. I feel totally let down by them, and will shortly be cancelling by £2.50 a month payment.
As I said at the start of my review, a few months back I would have given a hearty recommendation to anyone to sign up with Totalise Webmail... but not now !
