The aim of trivago is to build the world's most comprehensive travel database - a place you can go to when you want to plan a trip, where you'll find not only information about hotels, but also about all the great attractions in the area. And ... ...come my way.
* The trivago.co.uk forum - it ought to be a dynamic centre for debating but it's not and debate too often is interpreted as criticism and can get squashed.
* The dozens of people who join and then do absolutely nothing
* Inconsistent application of 'standards' and 'rules' across the different language platforms.
* Getting your reviews rated by Spaniards who barely speak English yet invariably rate lower than everyone else but can't ...

Advantages: A dynamic portal with varied tasks to perform for extra pounds Disadvantages: It is tricky and the approval is little bit slow sometimes
MY MEMBERSHIP WITH TRIVAGO started in April 2007. Prior to my registration, I have some reservations of joining the site, thinking that it will only be a duplication of what I am doing with dooyoo and ciao which I occasionally post reviews. Most of these reviews were not really commercial products, but rather service-oriented ones like travels, theatre productions and attractions. Having an active profile in ciao (5 months) and dooyoo (one year), ... ...sites to look for new excitement, challenges, and better incentive packages. In particular, dooyoo can only provide better rating rates and fair award scheme for the weekly crowns, while ciao recognises posting of photos to enhance my reviews, including a non-commercial category for my literary works (poetry). There were only few members of these consumer sites decided to join trivago as indicated by the number of reviews posted in bothciao and dooyoo ...

Advantages: money, multi-activity participation Disadvantages: time it takes to be paid!
Hi everyone,
OK, I know, most of you have completely forgotten me, or, never even knew me... and there's a very good reason for that... I've been completely bluffed by another website! OK, I know... that's a bit of a bad reason for not having been around for what seems like ages... but 24 hours in a day is just not long enough to do all I'd like to! hope you'll let me off?....
۩ For those who don't already know this time consuming but money ... ...to tell you about how my experience there is going, and what I can do there...
A very important detail is that trivago is still very young, so there is a lot to do... and therefore a bit of money to gain to develop it... how long for? Impossible to know... but then nothing is eternal.. we'll see!
۩ So here goes with my experience anyway...
First of all, if you want to help a friend out by making him/her gain a third of whatever you/yourself ...

Advantages: High pay rates (depending on your activity, but much higher than on ciao) - a young, vibrant community - friendly people from all over the world Disadvantages: like ciao a bit time consuming
This review is one of the longest I ever wrote. Don't be frightened away - if you want to earn some extra cash you will find it worth reading - especially part two.
0. Background
It was about two years ago when three former employees of Ciao Germany split up with one of Europe's best know consumer communities to launch their own project. It was born from the idea that the travel industry is one that can really cast off profits. But the system of ... ...turn travel bookings into a source of income. So Rolf, Peter and Stephan started trivago.
The concept:
Trivago builds an online portal which provides travellers a vast knowledgebase of travellers' reviews and comprehensive source of information on all types of accommodation and touristic attractions and forwards visitors of the page to travel agents and tour operators who have to pay booking commissions to trivago.
Since this is far more than ...

Advantages: Interesting articles and photographs on the site, some nice members Disadvantages: Rip Off
A personal, if somewhat negative review, which I know many of you may disagree with.
I foolishly joined Trivago late last year by way of Elspeth, a lovely lady who writes on Ciao. Initially I thought it sounded like a very good site and yet another place to earn a little pocket money. Well it shows you how wrong you can be doesn't it. There are many reviewers on here and Ciao who seem to thrive on Trivago but I know of at least a couple of others ... ...and you can decide.
Joning Trivag is pretty much the same as joining any of these review sites. However I did find the site a little tricky at first. Each member has a mentor and hopefuly this person should be able to iron out any difficulties you may have.
My mentor was useless. I asked him advice on a couple of issues and got absolutely nowhere. Trivago pay for accepted photographs which you upload that are your own. I found it very difficult ...
