Trustnet is a website that I have been using for roughly 2 years after seeing it advertised in Bloomberg Money magazine. When I first started using trustnet only information on investment trusts was available. After roughly 4 months of using the site information on Unit trusts was then included.
The data on trustnet is organised in a database format. A sort function exists on the site which allows funds to be sorted according to different criteria ... ...The funds and trusts on the site can be looked at as a whole and compared (which is very difficult because there are so many) or broken down into groups such as UK Growth & Income and Global Growth (Investment Trusts).
Unit trust groups also exist and include the examples of UK Equity Income and UK All Companies.

In short, if you've come this far grit your teeth. Aberdeen is well placed to take advantage of a recovery which I think will come sooner rather than later. There won't be another boom for a long time but the unit trust price will go up.

How to invest in Aberdeen:
Minimum lump sum investment is £500 or you can dripfeed £50 per month.
You can chose whether to have an income or accumalation unit trust and you can wrap it in an ISA to avoid tax.
If you use a discount broker or link from a website such as Interactive Investor (www.iii.co.uk) you can avoid most or all of the hefty 4.5 per cent set up fee. The 1.5 per cent annual charge is inescapable.

Advantages: A great portfolio tracking tool, good discussion and useful broker research Disadvantages: No currency conversion calculator, maybe not a site for the die hard investment analyst
...tool for managing my investment portfolio. I hope that iii does not become a dot com casualty.
PS. Has anyone used trustnet? Another financial information site specialising in Unit and Investment trusts, I would like to write an opinion on this but can not find it listed on Ciao.com....
