My very first impressions of uboot.com was brilliant, what could be better than being able to send sms messages from the internet for free, being someone who uses the internet alot I felt that this would be a valuable service as it costs me a fortune to send sms off my mobile and you have all the hastle of having to try to key it in on that little keypad(how annoying and frustrating.)
They allow up to 160 characters per sms message, and there is no limit to how many you can per day.
The text messages are almost instant, I havn't heard of one to take more than 20 minutes to get there.
But the over advantage of using this service is the fact that you dont have to send them all instantly, you can write up as any messages as you want assign them all different times and hey presto you have just saved yourself another whole bundle of time.
All messages sent through uboot are anonymous, so if you are sending to someone you know etc, it is advised to put your name somewhere in the message as people wont know who you are,IE no number will come up.
Uboot also have a email feature, so you can also send you emails whilst sending your sms, again very handy if you havnt got much time and need to get it all done in a hurry.
Uboot seem to have a very large member database which is growing rapidly daily, you can use there chat rooms in any way you would normally use any others, you can search for people on the uboot network, by email, location, name etc- so again it could be very usefull for making friends and contacts.
They also have a section called the message wall, where they have a different discussion every week, you get the opertunity to be able to add your opinion with the possibility of winning a prize( This message wall does seem to get out of hand sometimes with the more immature members writing a load of rubbish in the hope that someone will talk to them.
The only real disadvantages I have found with uboot is that there website has been down a couple of times for upgrade work.
Sometimes the website takes ages to load and you can be sat there for 5 minutes just to send one sms message, therefore defeating the object of convenience.
All in all I have been a member for over 5 months now and have only came across the website being down twice so it is bearable( and I have sent well over 9000 messages.)
Definatly worth a try if you send alot of text messages as it could save you alot of time and money.
