Uboot is the first service that I came across on the net to offer free SMS. So far I have not found a better one. Some limit you to how many you send a day. This is not the case with uboot. You do have to register with them but then you do for most other SMS services.
The messages are sent really quickly and you don't get annoying adverts which really slow thing down. When the message is sent it gives your username. I have made my username my name. That means that I don't need to put my name at the bottom of each message. You get 160 characters which is the same amount from my mobile. It has saved me an absolute fortune when sending messages to my friends.
Another great thing is that all the messages you send are also sent to your outbox. This means that if you forget who you sent what to you can check. Great if you are sending lots of messages to different people.
The only disadvantage that I can think of is that the person you have sent the message cannot reply. This is not a major thing but it would be a nice feature.
Uboot also has email which I don't really use so wouldn't want to comment too much. The times I have used it I have had no problems and it is was easy to use.
There are many other features in uboot. There is a chatroom, tones & logos, tip of the day, and Cheeez. Cheeze is a photo service. It looks good if you are into that kind of thing. As I have said I mainly use the SMS so am not really qualified to rate it.
The SMS messaging is free, easy to use and saves loads of money. Take a look and give it a go.
