The image uk2.net projects is slightly schizophrenic. The barely literate content of their website and email newsletter suggest a bunch of hobbyists in a back bedroom, but they claim to be the largest UK host and they push services aimed more at the corporate market like dedicated servers at £25+VAT a month.

I bought 10 domains (1 .org and 9 .co.uk/.org.uk's) from uk2.net last year for a total of £105.63 for 2 years. Looking at their site, you could be forgiven for thinking that 10 domains would cost only a few pence, but you have to multiply all the monthly figures they quote by 24 to get to the two years they actually charge you for and then add in the registry fees and VAT.
I roughly worked out their current prices for the same 'Super 10' pack and it seems to come out to the same amount to within a pound or two. I can't be sure as their website doesn't work out the full price for you until you have selected your domains and entered credit card details, so I couldn't be bothered. I suspect this is what they are banking on.
The fact that their prices aren't a lot cheaper a year down the line, indicates they may have been resting on their laurels somewhat.
I have since upgraded 2 of the domains to ad-free domain forwarding, i.e. paying to make them desist from including an advertising frame and an ad popup. This is essential if you want them to look reasonably professional, but costs a steep £22.32 per domain for 2 years. Some competitors now offer this in their basic packages, which is the number 1 reason while I'll be trying someone else for my next batch of domains.
Their price for hosting is also expensive, but I don't regard this as a problem because what with the space your ISP gives you and free hosting services, you shouldn't need to pay for hosting from your domain registration company.

This review has been fairly negative so far, but on the positive side, I am perfectly happy with uk2.net's actual services. I have found their web and email redirection to be reliable and generally fairly fast, the domains were availble quickly (far quicker than some ISPs who charge far more for domains) and I eventually received the nominet certificates, so they really do register the domains in your name.
If they reduced their prices to match the competition and threw in ad-free web forwarding for free, I would use them again.
Incompetent, liars, irresponsible, cheats. They have lost the data of well 10 sites web and servant serious damages. The authorities should prohibit to similar people to operate online still! Shame!

Advantages: easily misled by the nice site & features to believe they may actually provide a good service Disadvantages: no support whatsoever, no money back, does not work!
...I signed up with UK2.net 2 days ago now (which forced me btw. to buy a domain as opposed to just letting me use one of my existing domains without actually transferring it to UK2.net - thank God I did not do that as now I would be untangling that mess too). I bought the most expensive hosting solution available, Business Plus, as on paper the offer looked fantastic, especially the root access and full control panel. And I liked their 30 day money ... ...In reality what happened is that it took them around 14 hours just to enable my account from when I signed up and paid which is astonishingly slow when every other host I have worked with enable it automatically. Then when it was enabled, I cannot get into my SSH access, I am unable to set up more sites on the server, and I don't even have FTP access to my account. So after trawling around any support docs available, I decided to get in touch with ...

...others the pain - UK2.net is one of this select band. I'm not sure how cheap they are compared with the competition, other than they always appear to be charging for services that used to be, or elsewhere are inclusive; it's not actually that important to me to save a tenner or so every blue moon. Advantages: Very cheap domain registration Disadvantages: Restrictions on transferring names out, pop-up window on free web forwarding
UK2.net are probably the most high profile of all the domain name registration companies, currently charging under £10 to register the UK domain name of your choice.I've bought a couple of names from them and cannot fault the service. They offer free web forwarding and unlimited e-mail addresses and e-mail forwarding in the price, but beware, for this you have to put up with their pop-up banner on diversion. You'll have to pay extra to divert without ... ...that you have to pay to transfer the domain name out if you wish to use another host. They claim that this is because they are charging you next to nothing on the name, but since other companies are now offering registration for £9.99 (eg After Domains)without any restrictions, £19 to transfer seems excessive.
I haven't used them to host my site, preferring to forward to my existing site, partly because they don't offer the same range of services, and ...
