Full review
I joined Consumerlink UK back in March of this year.

As far as receiving surveys goes, this is the one company that is most regular. I'm averaging out at about 3 a month, and have been involved in a diverse range of surveys.

After joining up via a link through ipoints, I was pleasantly surprised to find an invitation to a survey delivered to me more or less immediately. The letter explains that once you have completed the survey, you are then put forward for a random selection process whereby a number of consumers who complete the questionnaire before the time limit is up (usually about 2-3 days), are picked and given ipoints as a reward.

The ipoints rewards do vary in quantity, and so far I have been picked twice, receiving 25 and 50 points for my pains.

The surveys themselves are pretty straightforward to carry out, although every now and again, I've received invitations to carry out surveys on a more involved basis than just picking answers from a multiple choice. One particular time, I was asked to view a number of advertising campaigns, and to rate and comment on every one of them. These obviously take quite a time, but you do get a warning beforehand, and it's quite gratifying to be able to stick your oar in on an Ad Agencies work...

The site itself is always brightly coloured, and the screen can suddenly blare into life with a startling raspberry pink background and pale yellow writing. And it doesn't stop there. It can be deep purple (but without Gillan) or a royal blue, apple green, whatever, it's pretty funky although sometimes a little hard on my eyes.

The opening screen offers you the chance to Join, check Current Surveys (members only), enter the Focus Group Room (members only) or email them with queries. There is also a link to FAQ's, and to update or view your personal profile.

With the Current Surveys link, only members who have received the password sent along with the invitation to complete it, can take part.

Now it goes a bit Tomorrow's World for me at this point, in as much as I can't tell you what the Focus Group Room is like, as I've not yet been successful at entering it. It won't recognise my user name, but I'm not losing any sleep over it. I only joined because I like to have an input into informational statistics, and stand the chance of winning a few ipoints into the bargain.

I enjoy taking part in the questions, because for most of the time, they do allow you to have your say with those handy little blank boxes they put up with 'Please Comment' next to them. So I do. I was forever being exasperated by opinion polls on situations and I would think "Pft! They didn't ask me what I thought", but at least now they do.

So, it's plus points....

1. It's free. You get to tell people what you think of the companies and their products for nothing.

2. They do "pay" up, although probably not as often as you like. The ipoints awards will vary from 10 - 500 - although the only 3 amounts I've been offered so far are 25, 50 and 100.

3. The surveys can be on anything. I've completed ones for coffee, cars, online betting, advertising campaigns, breakfast cereals, banks, pet food (I hated the taste of the pilchard brand and TOLD them so) and regional newspapers.

4. They send you a very polite 'Thank You' note for completing the surveys. Ahh. I do like good manners.

All in all this is an inoffensive online public opinion forum, that hasn't let me down in any way, shape or form. Yet. They'll get a few more opinions of mine if they ever do.

And yes, I was joking about the Pilchard cat food. It was Sardines.
