I have been reading the uk.telecom.mobile newsgroup for over two years now, having originally subscribed it to find out if there any new tariffs, handsets etc coming out. I have found, that whilst you can find out answers to sometimes obscure questions, there is an awful lot of pedantry in the group, with people replying to threads merely to point out orthographical and grammatical errors. A lot of threads are also trade related, although you do get some valuable consumer advice, especially as far as online services go, unlocking services for SIM/Network locked phones and also dodgy traders ... more

If you have any questions about any of the UK's telephone companies, have problems with your telephone are jsut want general advice about call charges, then I would recommend this newsgroup. Like all newsgroups it has it's regulars who are very easy to get on with. Of course like all newsgroups you do get the odd bit of junk postings or idiots. But like the advice given about the internet, if you ignore them they go away. Most people just look at the newsgroup without saying anything, just take a look and you will see what I mean.
