As a lot of you probably know, I'm a competitions-nut and hardly anything can compare to me finding a brand new competition to enter, well imagine my joy when browsing around on my computer last night I found uproar (well somebody else found it and e-mailed me but I was chuffed anyway!!), and here is my story of a day and a bit spent at uproar.co.uk.

First off there was the sign-up - it wasn't too hard, just your standard fare of personal details, etc. followed by the mandatory click of 'yes I agree to these terms and conditions' and before long you was into the actual site, within a couple of minutes the words welcome chucky2k were on the screen (chucky2k being my new screen-name, long story don't ask!!) and I decided to have a look around, any of you out there who don't know what uproar is well its a games site, where many of the games you can win money (well entry into prize-draws, but still its better than a poke in the eye!), and low and behold when I had a look around the site there was a fair amount of choices when it came to selecting which game I was going to play, theres the old faithful trivia game, an online version of the tv show catchphrase, various picture quizzes and many others - heres where I should give out a warning to everyone - not all of the games have prizes, some of them are for recreation-purposes only!

Anyway, I had to pick a game to go for and decided that Catchphrase looked like a bit of a laugh so away we went to see what it was all about, I was presented with a screen telling me to wait for a new game to start as I'd entered halfway through a current game, but something seemed a bit strange - on the homepage it had said that 45 people were playing, but when I checked including myself there were a total of 4 people on screen, strange I thought until I noticed that there was a section where you could chat with your opponents, so being the bold little person I am I decided to wade in and was instantly greeted with a barrage of 'hi chuck's and 'hi chucky's so straight away I asked about the amount of people playing and was told that in most of the games on the site you were placed in a group of 4 so that users stood a better chance of winning, which in my opinion was a great idea because some of the people on the site were obviously masters of the game and this gives the new user (i.e. me!) a chance to get somewhere, anyhow surely enough I played along and now have around 15 entries into the Christmas day draw to win £50 - not bad I thought but it was well past my bed-time so knowing that I wasn't needed at work today I made a mental note to visit the site again today.

This time I started off with a quick flourish in Catchphrase before deciding to test my wit against the other users in the Trivia game, and this time theres a difference to the Catchphrase prize - instead of being entered into a weekly draw theres about 7 (I think) draws a day to win a small amount of money and every question correctly answered wins you an entry, well I managed to get a grand total of 1 question right on my first go so that meant I had one entry into the draw, well it just so happened that the draw took place straight after that quiz and would you believe it within seconds of me joining the quiz I got the beautiful message 'Congratulations to Chucky2k you have won £3' - wooooohooooooooo!! A cash win, result!! I got a virtual round of applause from my opponents in the chat section and felt like a real part of the community.

So I've obviously carried on hopping between different games and alas there hasn't been any more cash wins, but there have been plenty more entries into the various draws for cash and it has to be said I feel like I've made a few more online friends, but a word of warning - there are some sick little monkeys on uproar who don't bother taking part in the games, all they are there to do is shock and upset people, now I'm the sort of person who doesn't care about idiots like this, but if you're easily offended and really want to use this site - turn the chat facility off. I've had offers and threats that I won't repeat here on ciao because I'd be thrown straight off this site if I did, the best thing to do with these people of course is just to ignore and report them, but this is just a warning to you all.

On to the actual look and feel of the site itself, it isn't too bad, and is really easy to navigate around (as long as you don't clean out your temporary internet files folder you never need to log in after you register!!), and all in all it has a nice bright feel to it, but really most of us are there for the cash opportunity and theres definitely plenty of that there!

So in closing if you're looking to meet people on the net whilst trying to win a bit of cash you could do a lot worse than browsing on over to uproar! But if you ever enter any of the quizzes and find yourself up against Chucky2k don't expect to win will you?
