usefulinfo.co.uk is one of these websites that is aptly named. An "It does exactly what it says on the tin" type website. This site is basically full of useful information. Never have I seen a site so full of information that is as useful as this is. Right, I'm starting to confuse myself here. It's useful but I haven't explained why yet. Well here goes.

When you arrive at usefulinfo.co.uk you are greeted by page that is both ...
...well as what's on guides. Usefulinfo.co.uk doesn't actually provide a service itself other than gathering all this information in the one place.

Now that is just one option in one city. Just imagine how much useful information is available.

Never have I seen a site so full of information that is as useful as this is. Right, I'm starting to confuse myself here. It's useful but I haven't explained why yet. Well here goes.

When you arrive at usefulinfo.co.uk you are greeted by page that is both user friendly and not hideous to look at. As per usual with websites today there is advertising but not that much and none that will damage your eyes. This is the general UK page with links for shopping, travel and tourism, entertainment, current affairs, services, science and other (this menu actually appears on every page on the left hand side). This is not why I find it useful though. The best bit is you can go to a site dedicated to your local city.

Slap bang in the middle of the homepage is the option to choose a city. There are quite a few to choose from, Belfast to Glasgow to Southampton to Wolverhampton (they appear in alphabetical order) there is bound to be a city near you. So Glasgow being my home city I choose this option (I have experimented with other and they are all pretty much the same).

I am now faced with several options similar to those on the main site but this time specific to Glasgow. There are also other links to UK shopping, auction, gaming etc sites. Those specific to Glasgow (or indeed whatever city you visit) are the links for entertainment, education, travel, tourism, accommodation an major Glasgow sites. I'll now discuss my favourite of these links, entertainment.

We are now at the home of a collection of some of Glasgow's most useful entertainment websites. From cinemas to theaters, from pubs to football clubs it's all here and you didn't even have to use a nasty search engine. There are links to venues like the Royal Concert Hall and the SECC as well as what's on guides. Usefulinfo.co.uk doesn't actually provide a service itself other than gathering all this information in the one place.

Now that is just one option in one city. Just imagine how much useful information is available.

To pick another option from the Glasgow site, Education for example, takes you to a page filled with relevant links, in the case of Education we have links to all the Universities and Colleges in Glasgow, jobsites and other useful sites for graduates and undergraduates. Each option has a wealth of information.

So to round up, if you are visiting a city and want to think of things to do this is the ideal place to start looking. If you live in a city and want to know what's on at the cinema this is the ideal place to start looking. If you are thinking of moving to a new city permanently (I put my self in this category) and are interested in knowing what services are available in that city this site is the ideal place to start looking. I think you get the idea. I rate it above any search enngine. The site is fast to view and easy to use.
