The resort finder at Virgin.net is an excellent resource for information about holiday resorts. I came across it after I'd already booked my summer holiday and was using it to look for information about the resort I was going to, I found it was ... ...I was deciding where to go on holiday as it could have helped with the decision. There's a search facility for you to enter the name of your chosen destination, in my case this was Crete. You are then presented with a list of resorts in that country. There is a short description under each resort. you can select a particular resort to view a more lengthy description, this gives details on such things as the location of the resort, a general description, ... more

The resort finder at Virgin.net is an excellent resource for information about holiday resorts. I came across it after I'd already booked my summer holiday and was using it to look for information about the resort I was going to, I found it was very useful and wish that I'd come across it whilst I was deciding where to go on holiday as it could have helped with the decision. There's a search facility for you to enter the name of your chosen destination, in my case this was Crete. You are then presented with a list of resorts in that country. There is a short description under each resort. you can select a particular resort to view a more lengthy description, this gives details on such things as the location of the resort, a general description, what type of people this resort is suitable for, etc. There is the opportunity for you to read other holidaymakers reviews of the resort at the bottom of the page, and for you to submit your own review.
You can also view a list of places to stay in each resort, this is similar to the detail on the resorts in that you can see a list of accommodation with a brief description underneath and selecting a particular accommodation will allow you to see a more detailled description. You can see a variety of details about the accommodation such as it's location within the resort relative to the beach and the resort ammenities, a description of the exterior and interior of the accommodation and a general opinion of the accommodation. Again there is the opportunity to read other holidaymakers reviews of the accommodation or to submit your own.
I found this site to be so good because of the detail that it provides. I have visited numerous sites looking for information about the hotel and resort where I am planning to go and have found very limited information on other websites but I found the Virgin website to be very informative. I also liked the fact that you could read the opinions of people who have already been there, consumers opinions counting for so much more than holiday company hype.
