I had a great honeymoon period with telewest/virginmedia having only 4mb internet, but succumbed to their vip package, when virgin took over (tv phone and net) and have had nothing but trouble.
10mb internet is never 10mb but tends to be around 4mb (whichever speed tests you use), I found customer services to be especially unhelpful about this; suggesting defrags and faulty cables which would have been fine had it not been a new machine with a fresh ... ...i run "netstat -a" in my cmd prompt and told this would fix my issues, which would be laughable on a sit-com.
TV service is intermittent at best and when I upgraded my services apparently I had a credit limit imposed (which I never had with BT), and apparently I breached this before my direct debit date, they didn't call me but disconnected my tv and net services, which I only discovered when I called up later that day to report the fault. I'm still in my 'First' month with VirginMedia and as far as I'm concerned they've been nothing but courteous and helpful whenever I've had to contact them. There's nothing wrong with their prices, tv or internet coverage. These other comments are from people who can't get through their day without moaning about something. GROW UP !!!

My experience with virgin has been a disaster, the help centre well there no help at all you can`t understand the person your talking to half the time. So i`m changing my service as soon as poss, all I wanted the service for was the sports and the internet for my children, me not being up on pc`s, anyhow I thought I would have a go and joined a forum on the virgin site to my surprise I got on well with a few people until one day last febuary I went ... ...since then,sometimes I can sign in and other day`s I can`t .
Like i`ve said the help line don`t help, for instance I rang to let them know there was a problem and all the lady said was go and use a friends pc or go to an internet cafe, why should I when my pc works fine on all other sites. I was on the phone for 47 minuites to be told they could`nt fix the problem and that they will ring me back which they never did so Mr Branson you have had enough ...

I joined virgin media last year, after a hectic year with another company that shall remain nameless, They was helpful when i first signed up, explained thjat it will take a few days for my connection to sort its self out in respect of speeds, as promised the speeds soon sped up and everything was running fine, The free modem was delivered as promised and was easy to set up, Even when I emailed them for help they have always responded within 24 hours, ...
