I have found their settlement of garage bills prompt and painless. I drive a large car and consequently have had, in eight years, some large garage bills. As long as the repair was sanctioned by WD. engineers, no problems. Obviously you need to have kept the previous years service record plus MOT. etc. to prove you are a responsible motorist when making a claim also there is a £50.00 excess and, depending on the mileage of your vehicle, you might have to pay a small percentage cost of the parts used in the repair. Believe me this is miniscule compared to some repair bills. I believe there are some garages that WD. has an agreement with to settle the bill directly, I personally have never used this facility as my vehicle is looked after by a specialist. This must be an advantage to someone who does not like the idea of paying up front and then claiming the repair cost back via paper work. Not absolutely everything is covered so, as with all things, read the small print to make sure you are happy with the cover and the cost of. As a final comment, the garage that looks after my vehicle have said to me that "Warrantdirect is the best warranty company that they deal with" some others can be really difficult.
