...watford.co.uk you'd be diverted there). I like visiting there as I can configure my dream computer (dream for me is a computer that will play even the most rudimentary of game!) and save it to drool.
I searched for the memory I wanted and sure enough, I found a 168 pin DIMM of PC133 memory ... Read review
This is an account of my issues with Watford Electronics (www.watfordelectronics.com) I purchased a Carrera PC via carrera.com. With 5 years warranty. First a few problems, the subwoofer didn't work but contacted Creative and they sent me out another asap. Problem sorted.
Then the hard drives started to play up and then found myself constantly ringing the technical helpline at Carrera. But eventually got the problem sorted. Although I have to say ... ...worries there. Until.....
Only months after buying the PC, I got a letter from Carrera to say they were going bust. I couldn't believe it. My luck had ran out. Two months afterwards I got a letter saying Watford Electronics had taken them over and they would resume my warranty but only upto 3 years and ONLY if I paid an EXTRA occuring fee. Gutted. But again my computer failed to work, so I felt I had to pay these costs and at least my computer would ...

Advantages: Cheap prices (like most online electronics stores) Disadvantages: 1/10 customer support / nightmare to return goods /goods incorrectly tagged as "in stock" ...
Shockingly bad online store. DO NOT SHOP HERE!! AKA Savastore and Saverstore. If you get your goods and they work, you are lucky, and you will not have to send goods back or ask for a refund. If you do find you have faulty or incorrect goods, then get ready to say goodbye to the next 6 months of happiness and calm. They also have many popular items logged as "in stock" when they are in fact out of stock. They do not have ANY telephone support, the ... ...answer their emails. If you try to get to customer service through their sales line, they are rude and hang up and don't seem to care a toss. One thing I've learnt from my Savastore/watford/Saverstore experience is never to buy from an online company with no telephone support. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE! ...

Advantages: Far outweighed by the disadvantages Disadvantages: Appalling customer service - don't answer the phones - Unreliable PCs
I bought my Carrera Computer because of its hi level spec and because it came with a five year warranty - three years on site and 2 years RTB. One week after it arrived (with damage to the tower case) the hard drive failed completely. I had to spend literally hours on the phone trying to get through to the warranty department. After twenty minutes in a queue they cut you off and you have to start again! Agh!!!!!!!!
A few moths after that Saga they ... ...taken over by Watford Electronics and that my warranty was void. They would however honour it for a total of two years only (on site). I've never understood this - they were part of Watford Electronics before.
Two weeks before my warranty was up my graphics card failed. After two days of attempts to get through the guy on the line persuaded me that he couldn't get someone to visit me on site for 2 weeks - but could have it picked up by courier in ...

Advantages: Relatively cheap way of ordering good equipment Disadvantages: Not particularly user friendly for non-tech heads
There are probably 1000s of us out there who need to buy a pc, but who know next to nothing about them, and are therefore cannon fodder for the rip off merchants out there.
Asking for advice from friendly geeks often throws up more questions than answers; you find out that PC World are the work of the devil, that you should never buy a PC with Windows installed on it, that Pentium Processors don't work, Celeron are even worse, and the best bet is ... ...Fortunately I come from a family of geeks, so I was able to get some real in depth advice on exactly what I needed when recently purchasing a new PC - what memory I needed, hard disk space, CD ROM drives and so on. Which makes the Watford Electronics website a good option.
Watford Electronics are a store specialising in all things computer related, from your 50 pence flange up to space station control centre. The part that I found useful though ...

Advantages: Price, savapoints, delivery. Disadvantages: can take a while to find what you want, getting hold of customer service.
Watford electronics to me are one of the up and coming online shops, they dont compare to to some others thet i use but they can give them a run for there money, first that bad points.
when using watford/savastore you have to know exactly what it is your looking for, you can search for the product easy enough but it can bring up alot of options that you dont really want, but if your willing to look then it will be there, they have a good customer ... ...phone, e-mail is another good way if your willing to wait a few hours they can be pretty nippy at answering them.
now for the good points and i have a few of them, firstly the delivery, well packaged on time and a poilte e- mail to say that it had been shipped and was on the van, when it got to me the driver was polite and didnt seem in a hurry for a change, well done for picking the courier.
i mentioned the e-mails a second ago, you get one to ...
