Recently their support and service has been beyond shocking. At one point their servers were hacked/ had hardware crash and all the data was lost. No backup no apologies. I take it on the chin and assume the old proverb "you get what you pay for."

OK so we get over that little glitch... well next I have a problem with hosting and domain. So i call tech support, which ... ...rude and unhelpful, initially refusing to look at the domain in question.
He comes up with many reasons for the problem... without even looking at the domain. Finally he takes a look at the website and we start getting somewhere.
Move on a few weeks, i need to talk to support on a totally separate issue. I try emailing, nothing, try calling wait 45mins nothing. Try calling at different times of the day, no connection. ... more

Try online support, great get through, but i need to speak to telephone support.
I'm pretty much bored of the whole thing now.
On a technical point, when you are using FTP for whatever reason they close the connection after about 10 seconds of inaction. This is not the client software, as i use the same software to manage four other websites.

I have had my site hosted on their servers for about 2 1/2 years and i haven't had any down time or errors. I Use their own control panel wich hasn't got as many features as cpanel. They do allow telnet which many hosts don't allow. The only have 1 option which is set at 500mb space 6Gb data transfer so if you need more then this is not the host for you. That is the main reason i change host was that they didn't have any other plans to upgrade too. ... ...a good reliable data centre, They offer php and mysql but only 1 database and only 1 ftp account the rest like email and subdomains are unlimited. They use live person as their online support system and never had a problem with that you get a instant solution to most of your questions. This is a good affordable host for most personal sites anything bigger will need to look somewhere else for bigger storage and bandwidth ...

I have used web mania for around 2 or 3 years and have had upto 4 accounts with them. In the past 2 years I have experienced several instances of days of downtime, a completely unreliable web to email service and today I was absolutely gutted to find out that the website i had been developing for the last 2 weeks has been lost because of a disk error at web-mania. I have lost around 40 hours of work.. whats more I havent just lost the website but ... ...web-mania have restored me back to about a month ago.
When i spoke to web mania they stated that they dont do tape backups.
so when I get my website backup again I will promote web-mania's shocking reliability!
If your thinking of web-mania look at ww.qiq.co.uk first (same price but much more reliable service) ...
