What is web of wool? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Web of wool is a website.. quite a small one, which stocks self patterning wool mostly to knit socks, they sell wool, needles, and patterns.
The patterns are quite simple ones just basic but this makes them easy to follow.
I have never come across this type of yarn In the shops, I have seen wool that changes colour but ive tried to knit this and it doesn't come out as stripy as such.
The wool is dyed In a special way so that when you knit socks with It, they turn out to be stripy as if you have used lots of different wools.
You knit these socks on 4needles, now this sounded very complicated to me but I bought them and gave it a go, well it turns out uncomplicated, if I can knit these socks anyone can.
I bought a special offer, in this you get.. 1ball of wool of your own choosing, set of 5 double ended bamboo needles (very small,) a pattern, a tapestry needle to sew them up, and 5 stitch holders, all of this for £10 and that is including p&p.

Opal.. This range is 75% wool and 25% polyamide and It knits like 4ply rather than double knitting. The site tells you that 1 ball of this wool will knit a pair of adults socks, In my experience I would say that 2 balls would knit 3 pairs of adult socks, you get a pair out of 1 ball but with quite a bit left over.
There are lots of colour combinations including a group of indigo's and a one called carnival which is a lovely multi coloured one.
In each colour group there are several choices of colour an example of this is.. Opal lollipop, green/pink, multicoloured, yellow/brown, bright/multi, purples and so it goes on, the other types of wool are.. Regia, in this range you have..multi effect, nation which is black and yellow, there is also stretch sock wool in this range, and a cotton one too, each have the ranges of colours. The last group of wools are called.. Socka, in these, the biggest ranges of colour you have the denim range, now this is my favourite the blues are so clean looking and crisp, I love them.
You can buy the wool on its own, the 100g balls are £6.80 and ..no surprises the 50g balls are £3,40.
Patterns.. ~~~~~~~
You can get a free pattern for socks if you request one when you order wool. Glove pattern. These are for children's gloves and adults. Baby sock pattern. For 0-9 month size. Baby hat pattern, this is a pattern for two hats, 0-12 months. A simple Childs jumper 24"-28" Simple scarf pattern. Simple bag pattern. Ladies v-neck sweater/cardigan pattern. Cushion pattern. Hat patterns. Poncho adult size.
All these patterns are £1 each.
You can also buy needles, these are made from bamboo, they are very nice to knit with however are quite expensive, I have looked at these in the shops and have found them to be a similar price. They are on average £5.75 per pair.

My experience of buying from this site.. Well to be honest I love it, I have bought a couple of special offer packs and given them as gifts, I have also bought balls of wool, I lost my pattern and rang them up and they sent me a new one no problem and free. I love the socks they look really original and do turn out exactly as they look on the pictures on the site. They make lovely gifts too, everyone in my family got a pair last Christmas and I found that buying mostly the same colours I was getting a lot of socks for the money.
When you place your order It takes a few days to be delivered and when I have ordered a few Items I have found that they stick a freebie of some stitch holders in, very nice and very friendly too..
