Whoohoo is a wonderful site that allows you to translate any text and emails into an interesting selection of dialects.

Whoohoo is absolutely free and requires no sign up's or registration. It is also really very easy to use.

First lets look at what dialects are available:

1) Ali G Translator
2) Cockney Rhyming Slang Translator
3) Irish Translator
4) Scouse Translator
5) Yorkshire Chicken Run Translator
6) Brummie Translator
7) Geordie Translator
8) Scottie Translator
9) Jolly Well Spoken Translator (Posh)

This is a lovely selection of dialects to choose from and they usually are all pretty accurate.

They also have a lovely feature located on the top left of the homepage called "Translate your emails". Once clicked you will be presented with a page in which you can send you email directly from the site and in the dialect of your choice. Simply enter your name, your email, the receivers email and the message. Then select the dialect that you want your message translated to and hit the "translate email" button. The next page shows you the exact email in its translated form. You can then hit the "send email" button to send the email.

This is a really lovely way to send messages to your friends and in there own dialect. It's sure to be amusing to everyone and it is no wonder that Whoohoo were one of the nominations for "Best Funny Site" at the yell.com Awards 2001. Although they did not win the award the main thing was that they were nominated and this goes to show you how far this site has come since its launch.

As mentioned earlier the translations are usually quite accurate and they are welcome to suggestions, from all users, to ways in improving this aspect.

You even have the opportunity to add words to the translators by selected the appropriate link. This has proved very successful so far with over 6000 new words already added by users. They even used to have a "Free SMS" service but this has been temporarily suspened due to the overwhelming usage. They hope to have it resumed once they are able to generate more revenues from advertizements.

They are also continously striving to make improvements to the site and in this regard the Irish Translator was just added. Apparantely it's pretty good and I'll give it a go soon.

Overall a truly wonderful free site to brighten up your personal email activity and to have a really good laugh.
